if they built a track in toronto there wouldn't be any street racing but they won't because the government makes money by giving out a bunch of ticket. so this problem can be fixed, just build a f**cken track closer to toronto

TTZ_JSpec 09-22-2007 12:50 AM

For real, if you build it they will come =]

that's what the **** I am saying, all those people in legislature and in governing positions are nerdy homos that doesn't know about cars. They know building a track would solve the problem i mean for ****sakes, if they built a track at centennial by the gokarting place you know how much money they'd make?

I understand them trying to control street racing cuz it freaks out other ppl
and what not but, pulling over every single car with exhaust doesn't help
but build up more of the age old feud between tuners and ****in faggot cops

I've been in Ontario for a little while now and I can honestly say that I can't wait to leave. The legislation here is absolutely ridiculous, and the government is throwing around as many buzz words as they can to stay popular.

I'm sorry, but the political atmosphere of this province is a joke. I can't wait to leave.

People like you are the EXACT reason that Tuners are targeted- because you say that cops are "faggots", and they say that you're a racer. Guess what? They pull you over they will always win.

Maybe an attitude change is in order before anything constructive EVER gets done.

TTZ_JSpec 09-22-2007 01:06 PM

attitude change yes, but they could still ease up.

well i dont think you guys know what is involved with up keep with a drag strip and race track. its very expensive to keep a track up period. also where could u put it? not worth my tax paying dollars for a track. i prefer to see the money for a track go to health care and education. racing is a "pleasure sport" not a necessity to human life lol.

i would like a track don't get me wrong. but if the government ran it, it wouldn't be fun anyways. Toronto closed rec. centers for cuts in spending. so if they built the track, it wouldnt last long. David Miller (Toronto mayor) doesn't no crap about Toronto and is digging his own grave by doing so.

TTZ_JSpec 09-22-2007 03:49 PM

Yea, and in order to build one you have to check the noise, and there is really no where you could put it close to the city you know?

A790 09-22-2007 05:02 PM

That's not true at all. You set the track up and it pays for itself. Charge admission, race gas, etc... people will pay it.

I mean, the thousands of other tracks across the world have to do it somehow, what makes Toronto any different? And there's plenty of room near the city- some sound deadening fence and BOOM, problem solved.

Kuztom Freak 09-22-2007 05:13 PM

2 cars racing down a track make the same noise as those same 2 cars going down the highway - so the noise issue is a fake non existant excuse, just make it that you need a street muffler to race, no open exhaust.

Im curious enforcer505, what is the upkeep of a track? how do you know this (have you worked at one or anything)?

Track upkeep is fairly expensive, especially if that track as a road course attached as well. You have the actual maintenance of the asphault, track prep, on-site facilities, buildings, maintenance, staff, etc. It's not cheap, but there's no reason that the track can't recoup its costs via weekly drag/auto-x nights and whatnot. Toronto is a HUGE market- I bet my hat that it'd be profitable.

A slight flaw in this plan of getting racers off the streets...

The "racers" they are making these huge rediculous laws/fines for are not those who set up organised meets on a backroad or in an industrial park, they are targeting the morons who drive too fast on the highway, the spontaneous red light racers, and the dumbass kids in mommy's/daddy's vehicles out for a joyride.

Building a track for the real racers is pointless because even though all the racing enthusiasts will use it, there's still thousands of retards who just want to have fun on the street and have no real interest in racing as a hobby.

Still... I'd love to see a 1/2 mile of pavement put down, no tree, no unnecessary bells and whistles.
Just sign a waver, pull up to the line, someone flags you and rip it till your heart's content.

VDUB101 07-21-2008 06:40 PM
