This is the whole story of the car. The car originally started out 5 years ago as a wanna be race car. I got it running 2 years ago in half *** form. I took it to the track and ran a 12.2 @ 120. I never took it to the dyno. The last time I took it to the track, I got it about 1/2 track and then my motor stopped and I almost put it into the wall. That really freaked me out to see all the work I did almost end in about 1 second. That same year I started attending a bunch of street rod shows. I learned alot from them as far as style goes and had a ton of fun at the shows. In fact I reallized that I had more fun at shows, than I did racing it. So the plan was to incorporate some street rod style and late model race car style into one package and take it to some shows.
I am actually building the car backwards from what most people do. I am starting with the suspension and working my way up to the engine as the last thing. With LS1's out there, I am giving up on the LT1 and will have some fun at shows with it. After the suspension, cage, rearend, and tranny are bought, I am going with either a 540 GM crate, or the 572 Merlin or GM crate motors. The goal is to stay streetable. ET's I don't really care to much about since there will always be someone faster, and I don't have time to keep working on a broke down car. Besides, I don't think that a 12.2 @ 120 with a 2.16 60' is bad for a bone stock motor. All have is long tubes, no cats, and a 3" flowmaster exhaust. I also had a 75 shot to run those times, but took it off this year.
P.S. If you can't believe it is bone stock, ask the people that showed what it sounded like.

skunkdya, thats crazy, your car is awesome looking, one of the best ive seen. thats incredible you ran that time with those mods. i was hoping to reach 12's with a 100 shot, headers, ignition upgrades, and small suspension upgrades, but it doesnt look like that should be too big of a problem. what kind tires were u running btw?

You should be able to do it with the right tires and those mods. I was running 245 street tires. That is why my 60's sucked. But I definately had the power cause my mph was pretty high for that time. I am guessing my car is also about 3200 lbs. That is also a big factor. If you still have air/heat, airbags, front/rear bumpers, stereo, spare tire, etc, you are probably around 3800+ lbs.
One of the reasons why the engine compartment is so clean is because all the wiring from headlight to tailight is redone. I ran all the wiring through the framerails so you don't see anything. I also have a fuel cell which is not in the pics.
