Hell, I know of a few civics that are very fast cars, in the high 10's and low 11's that will race on the street. But the majority that hang out on this site don't go where they are. For those select few that know where these are, know that these races aren't circus shows like they are in woodbridge.
i also remember a place by a movie theater

well this was right after winter when the roads were good and the temps were real nice.. and alot of the guys out there said that "this was the fastest bunch of cars they'd ever seen out there" and here's what i saw... BEAT UP foxbody mustang with a small kit... maybe a 12-13 second car, bunch of SRT4's (this was liek when they first came out up there i think), some kid in an audi that was a real dick to me... beat up and grey in color... you all probably know him.. my friend that took me out said he was pretty well known.. a turbo integra that didnt look like it ran very hard (considering it pulled 1 car on teh stock Saab i rolde out there in on a roll race...)
then just a bunch of "show cars" and "rice mobiles" that couldnt have run faster than a 14 if they put a 150 on their .. and those were the same kids that were driving like retards on the road... racing from 60kph roll's in traffic and ebrake drifting curners on the way to some warehouses where i saw the aforementioned "quick" cars race.
WAY too reminicent of the ricer car show scene down here in south florida.
i mean we do some roll racing down here.. but usually with high torque FWD cars and big power supra's, vette's, vipers and other cars that cant catch traction without running a non factory suspension system (4link, ladder bar, etc)

Um, I already stated that part. The civic part was so people would know that alot of these races are not just domestic.

Yup. Some will remember a certain white EG hatch powered by a "5.0"
I guess people up here just know how to drive. Racing from a roll is good if you want to find out whose car is ultimately faster, racing from a dig is good if you want to be a man and find out whose the better driver.

That show was rigged and stupid . I dont know anyone that will use nitrous or even race when the temps are around 28 deg F like was said on the show . That show was about as interesting as watching the crazy/drunk white guy trying to kick out/ beat his head against the back window of a cruiser on cops..77.

it doesnt really get that cold down here in Florida much, last winter i was seeing temps right around freezing.. (30-35 F) and i had my car out every damn night with a fatter fuel jet in the kit. We spent 4 hours a peice on a dyno with 3 different cars writing up a cold weather maps in their AEM's then they were out every damn night as well... and we weren't racing each other... so its pretty obvious that other people had done the same. The great thing about winter here is that we dont get snow, and we hardly get ANY precipitation, and best of all we dont have to deal with the damned mosquitoes.

Sorry , I must apologize to you . MY post reply was related to lets say the general area of where this site is based . That the last time i checked was approx THREE to FOUR hours north of the Canadian/American border.
When the temp is 28 deg F , theres not a lot of racing going on . Maybe snowmobiles , but I ,m not putting skis an tracks on my car .
As for my car being slow , well maybe . Its faster then 13,s , maybe , maybe not . A car that can run into the 12,s is gonna just about beat 90 % of the cars you see at a meet . Granted , real street racer meets got faster cars then that . But at a local average saturday night I,m not gonna bring a ten second car to run against fwd 4 cyl,s or minivandrivinmofo,s.
Anyway , Why would 2 guys from chicago , drive to Iowa to race in the middle of the night , freezin their nuts off , runnin the engines at speed for 10 mins just to keep the intakes warm .I,ve heard that condensation in an intake can cause mixture problems ( proper atomization ) running juice and fuel , which can cause lean spot , which I,ve been told ( seen the left over pieces) can be pretty hard on a motor . One of the motors blew didnt it .
IMO, the idea of the show would be ok , but the set up was pretty gay .Also the one guy was on a site saying it was rigged anyway. And I couldnt participate , I woulda been disqualified about ten minutes in for knocking the outta the bald guy.
When I race at track or otherwise I like to keep it friendly, calm , whether for money or not . If that show was real I,m pretty sure tempers woulda flared.
My car is in storage from october to may , Damn snow kills my 60 foots..77.
