Post Just a question...

Dose any body know which car would be faster both 1/4mile and highway runs with modifations. Subaru Impreza WRX STI or the lancer evo 8. And also which one can make the most hp and be more reliable. Doing a little survey to see which car would be faster so it would help if you can help me out with this question.

The Sti is faster in a straight line, but the evo kills it in the slalom. If I remember correctly sti runs 13.3 evo runs 13.8. But the evo does 73 mph in slalom, sti does 67mph. As for reliability, they're both rice so they'll probably last forever.

13.1 vs 13.3 is all driver. My dad told me one time that I was shifting at the wrong time in my car, so I sent him on a few 1/4's. The fastest he managed was 12.89. I hopped back in the rabbit, and ripped off 3 staight 12.4 runs. He never said any thing about it again.
As for EVO vs STI, I personally would take the EVO. I don't like Subaru's hood scoop, and before anyone tells me its functional, I know that. I just think that the STI would look a lot better with and FMIC, and no scoop. Don't know if it's practical or not. However I have seen a couple of STI's with a Grand Prix Ram air style hood. Don't know who makes it, but it's supposed to be functional also. FastWrx, maybe you've seen this hood before. I've only seen it in the U.S.

Sure it is fuctional....for the IC. It creates so much turbulent air in the engine bay and messes up aerodynamics...There is a reason cowled hoods vent towards the windshield.

see what i heard about the scoop is that it makes for shorter spool time ..less time for ait to travel from ic to turbo .. and i would imagine that the guys that designed the sti know what tha **** they are doing ..

and no im not biased towards the suby just because i own one.
