so i have court in a month for a 50 in a 80...BUT i only requested my disclosure last week and they told me it takes 4-6 weeks

question is, if i don't get it in time can i request to re-schedule the court date until i DO get the disclosure???

If you go when your date is, you should be able to get a continuance.

Just ask for a continuance. The court will know what it is. Basically, you say you need the time to get a lawyer, or to peruse your disclosure, or whatever. Generally it's not a problem.

Talk to the public defender before you go in. He or she will likely talk for you, then you can find a lawyer, or whatever.

call and ask for a reschedule or just go to queens park and reschedule it, they dont give you problems. you can even sometimes do it day of.
