ok well i was parked at city hall (parallel parked) and while i was sitting in my car with my gf waiting for class... a lady hit me from the front.

anyway we exchanged info and i asked her if she would just like to pay for it its about a 4 inch crack no big deal i can fix it myself so i ask her 500 cash and she says no way to much. then i said ur insurance is gonna go up..and she said mine will too...

so i asked why she thinks that she said cuz my car is a lowrider and i was like a what? and she said "ur car is lowered right" and i was like no it came stock like that..(its a skyline so they wont even know anyway)

so then she leaves all mad..then i went to the collision reporting center and i get a quote for 1500 damage est.

so my insurance wont go up correct? well thats what my insurance said cuz i was parked.

ya on my cell phone its really small....its just that they'll have to ship the new bumper and if i really wanted to get a new one it'll cost around 2000 ...lol....but i dont have her number anymore i'll be going through insurance for sure...i could use a paint job..

i was so nice to her i'm just sorta mad cuz she was so mean about it all...i guess she was doing what her dad was telling her....and i guess her father assumed i was just a ricer kid that prolly doesnt have insurance..lol or does not know what to do..

Give up trying to be nice. Just let your insurance handle it. If you're insurance provider were to assess YOU with ANY percentage of fault, your rates would go up. But talk to them and make certain they understand you were parked (not moving at all).

This exact scenario happened to me. A local actor backed into me while I was stopped in a parking lot aisle. I offered to let him pay in cash after receiving 3 quotes. When I told him the cheapest quote was $850 he got all snooty with me, belittled my car (all-original '65 Comet), and offered $200, "And that will be that". I explained to him his insurance ramifications, but he would have none of it! I proceeded with the insurance route, and fixed the car at the HIGHEST quote ($1,200!!!).

I've been hit 6 times to date, always while stopped. Only two worked out with cash (without involving insurance).

You've tried to help her out. It didn't work. Get your car fixed.

In ontario we have the "no fault" rule which means you can claim against her... your insurance company pays for the damages and goes after her for the money, however you rates will not go up bc you are not at fault... my advice is to report the damage to your neatest police station.. make the claim and be done with it

double post but only if she refuses to pay the damages this way u have the collison on record, you wait to long theres no proof she wont have to pay

oh ya everything is done all i have to do now is goto a body shop for a quote and i'll be getting a rental i think.
