How many have been stopped MTO?

at Random in the city?

I got pulled over tonight. Complete bs.
oh noes a lowered SiR.. Must be a racer :retard:

I got a ticket for supposedly having my breather not hooked up properly.

Dont know where they were looking at :knock_tee

ing mto. waste my time. I wouldve rather been pulled over for having a suspicious vehicle and getting an LAPD style beatdown instead of this crap.

$365 ticket.

at least if i was beat it would be done and I would be on the road to recovery.

Time to go to court. Show them my Emissions passing cert. pictures etc.
I hope I can get out of this ticket. thats way to much money.

They need to pull over REAL cars that need to be pulled off the road.NOT lowered civics :hah:

I went to 403 Timmy's for the first time in a while and there was mto and halton cops checking all cars and doing e-tests right in the parking lot. My buddy got 2 warnings, to rasie his car and change his tires.

Last year leaving the same timmies i got pulled over just before the lights at winston churchill and dundas( i was heading east). He introduces himself as the new district supervisor for the miniustry of transportation, asks if i mind him doing a safety on my vehicle. i said "go ahead", he asks me to pop the hood and remain seated in the vehicle. He writes down the vin on my motor, walks back to the cruiser. returns with my papers and says "Thats not factory intake, exhaust manifold and motor, i now have this recorded in my database, have a good night". no tickets or anything and he just walked away, since then i have been pulled over and harassed more then i did with all the riced out i had when i was 16.

Check my post on page 2 of project erase in this section. :bs: Couldn't touch me. Haven't been pulled over since. But the car is mint. No rust, and only lowered .5 inch. They didn't even notice it was lowered. Called me on the bilstein adjustables though. I told them I got a deal because the car was 20 years old. What a bunch of ing wankers. :retard: :smilie_da

You mean like 90% of the UHAUL trucks that fail safety tests, but because they're licenced in Arizona the government can't do anything about it?

84camaro 07-25-2005 03:41 PM

what exactly happens when mto pulls u over?

The Government can do things about the U-hauls. Any uhaul over 4500kgs is designated a Commercial Motor vehicle and now requires a CVOR (commercial vehicle operators registration). The CVOR allows a company to operate in Ontario. When violations occur they go against the CVOR points (similiar to demerit points) After a certain amount of CVOR points, based on number of vehicles, the CVOR status would be pulled, and the company unable to operate or permit their vehicles from being operated within our Province.

spd-dmn 07-25-2005 05:16 PM

The above is true.

HOWEVER U-haul claims that, since the trucks are rented for "private" use (eg. people moving their around), they are not being used as commercial vehcles by the rentees. This is the little loophole that has allowed the decrepid trucks to remain on Ontario streets so far.

Moosexing 07-29-2005 05:24 AM

UHAUL still must has a CVOR, only difference as they are rented is that the driver is exempt from doing a log book and inspection report such as any other commercial motor vehicle

I know a guy who has his CVOR and he told me that the points they get against them dont go away, you carry those for life.

I was wondering if you can refuse to let them under your hood.

I mean, do they have a mechanics liscence? You can say no to a cop if you really want to. ahahha, he may make your life hell in other ways but what can MTO do? not much else i would imagine.

I signed for trial and hopefully will be able to get this tossed.

The discription of the fine is so vague .
Cant remember the exact wording at this point
but its basically "operation of vehicle against emission standards"

wtf. how could i pass emissions then? :appl:

it doesnt even say anything about my breather (which was hooked up right anyways) :smilie_da

what a waste of time.

btw it was heading east on Dundas just before whinston churchill. they came bombing out of the home depot in a ing suburban. :retard:

Cracky 01-17-2006 11:36 AM

well I guess I wasnt lucky. got bent over. complete bs, and now im stuck with this huge ass fine to pay. :retard:

teg_gsr 02-02-2006 12:50 PM

if your breather was hooked up properly why not show him it is hooked up properly? I've never been pulled over (luckily) by MTO and if I did, I would probably get screwed.

AMKK 02-12-2006 06:11 PM

I was pulled over a few years back for the exact same thing. Ended up going to court for it. I guess they consider that part of the emissions sytem and therefore as stated in the HTA it is illegal to modify or remove any emissons component. They were thretening me with a five hundred dollar fine back then.

JOE RICER 02-17-2006 09:07 AM

I took one for the team :bs: they got me for the air intake system, and said the exhaust was illegal so $385 in fines later I still have the same stuff on the car and it passes the big e-test
