Insurance Question
Hey,
Posting a question for a friend.
Friend of mine need to get insurance on his car for the spring. Has 2 tickets on his record right now, but 2 months after his cars back on the road, one of the tickets is off his record. The difference between the 2 tickets on his record and only one ia $200. He wants to know if, when a cop pulls you over for speeding and that crap if they run your insurance too see if you have it, or if they just ask for the ins. slip. Any suggestions what to do? Also do you have any ins. companies that are cheap as hell?? Right now hes paying $500+ for just liability.

as for insurance companies it varies by location, record, age, etc...
imo contact a broker and get them to search for the cheapest place for you...

Cops don't always run your insurance information to verify it.
In fact (as anyone caught with an expired slip will tell you) cops don't bother to call and verify whether your insurance is still valid. They just go by what you show them. They see enough insurance slips to know exactly what they look like.
However, you should know that "Any person who issues or produces a card to show that there is in force a policy of insurance [...] that is in fact not in force is liable to a heavy fine and/or imprisonment and his liscence may be suspended."
Do you really wanna take the chance, over $200?
