Thumbs down Need some help with insurance

Alright so heres the thing.. im looking to pickup a 04 lancer ralliart. Im 18 with my G2 (need to wait untill december.. thats besides the point) So theres my dad, my mom and me and right now we have a 01 mazda pickup which my dad drives and a 03 honda crv which me and my mom drive. Im a occasional driver for both cars and my parents are the primary drivers.. 1 for each car. We pay roughly $4000 a year. I got a quote with my lancer added to the family.. and they told me it's going to be about $8000 which is ridiculous... Even if I went under the crv and my mom under the lancer they would only shave off roughly $800... No one in my family has ever been in a accident.. no speeding tickets that raised our insurance.. nothing. $4000 a year is just way to big of a number for me to pay for.. what can I do? Anyone know of any decent companies I can call? To maybe drop it down to about $6000?

I doubt it. I shopped around and for my 99 4 door civic my lowest quote with my G2 was 3600 a year. For a subaru WRX STI they wanted like 6000.... This is when i was 19.

4000 a year isnt that much for that car. Especially if you can get it dropped to like 3200...

Ontario insurance sucks man. I wish it was regulated here like it is in other provinces

If you get your G youll drop it by probably anywhere between 500-1000, and when you turn 20 itll drop another 500 or so.

Oh and i should mention my parents have like 5 vehicles, their store and their house all on the same policy, so we're saving a ton with multi coverage. Its still ****ing stupid high because im young. My dad pays like 1000 a year on an 07 Tundra.

Even then sometimes its not that great. My company has group insurance through PCS and it sucks, 6000 +/- is what they quoted me...

Check out Harold J Mitchell insurance, theyre the cheapest for young people, as far as ive found. Insurance on my 92 sentra, which is comparable to your car, was around 2500 a year. I didnt have collision on it though, which is really whats going to kill the premium. Just dont get into any at fault accidents.

As soon as there is a 3rd car in the family, you'll be considered a primary driver. At least that's how TD insurance was with me. They went the extra step and put me as primary driver on the most expensive of the 3 cars.
I'm finally getting the the 25 year old rate now on my own policy.
But up until now I tried to stay under my parents policy.
