A year is good enough, because the way the traffic court works is that the officer has to show up, if they dont then the charges against you are dropped. By pushing off the date the chances of the officer coming get slimmer.

Second of all i had some major trafic tickets out there that were haunting me but i kept stalling and eventually came to court and the police officer didn't so right away the judge dismissed my charges. Im telling you the truth and the facts the whole process took like 5 minutes.

You're ****ed, unless the officer doesn't show up, which in your case with a straight summons they most likely will. You're better off pleading guilty with an excuse and they might be leinant and drop a charge or two. If you want to get insurance in the next 3 years you're better off getting a lawyer. Before you even have your lisence you already have a suspension and points against you.

Anyways, I know what I did was wrong and I fully understand the consequenses and its something I won't be repeating. Like I said before everyone makes mistakes in life and this was my mistake. I just want to be able to make things better and step-up to my mistakes and make sure I don't repeat myself. I don't need people bashing me or eachother. I am thinking of making an appointment with the Crown Attorney and try to explain my situation and see if they would cut me some slack. I don't have a record and this is the first serious mistake I've ever done in my life.

I've been in contact with one place that fights tickets and they said they would charge me $800. I have paid my suspension and it was for a "jaywalking" ticket that was unpaid. Too bad I never received a ticket and now I have to go to Guelph to investigate this ticket. But before that I have to go to court to fight the other summons. I was told that I would only be charged with "disobeying sign" $85 and 2 points. Other than that I would be off and I don't even have to go to court they would actually go to court for me and fix it.

Any more advice is appreciated, thanks again!

i totally agree. I'm an immigrant myself. i arrived in this beautiful country when i was nine and i ADAPTED to the ways of life and respected the country the way it was meant to be respected. Well my plan was orginally to go to the crown attorney by appointement. Explain my situation. It was a honest youthful mistake. I've realized my mistake and it was a stupid move to impress my date because I didn't want her to take the subway home.

Here is what a constable told me, they would only charge me with, if they do:

"The fine for the left turn is $110. The fine for being a G1 driver without an accompanying driver is also $110, but your licence will also be suspended for one month upon conviction for that offence. The issue of you licence being suspended is difficult to comment on. You need to find out why it was suspended. The local Ministry of Transportion office can help you find that out. If you find out that your suspension had something to do with your wallet being lost, then you need to let the police and the courts know about that. You should try to meet with the provincial prosecutor before your court date to talk about that, if it was that someone else was using your licence."

Ya, the sooner you learn how to handle traffic defenses on your own, the better off you'll be down the road. The traffic ticket places are a good option for those who can't articulate well in a formal setting, or are just too scared to step foot in a courthouse.

the problem with courts is it depends on who your judge is. soemtimes you get one whos quite leniant and will drop the charges if you have no prior offences. sometimes you get one who wants to make an example out of you to your friends and you get the max they can give you. in the end no matter how polite and respectful you are and hwo much bs you try to spoon feed them, it all comes down to their mood that day. try to be there early on in the morning and try to get the jp to bump you to the front of the rotation, before they get pissed off at the world

I had a few problems back in the day with g1 class license. When I went to court I even remember the cop being there, and when they called out my name the prosecutor said it was a no-evidence case? (dont know what that means) but the judge was like you're free to go.

So I went to court today, instead of picking a trial date I decided to cut a deal with the procecuter.

My total fine is $280 and I get 5 months to pay it. No points taken off and no other suspension. Going for my G2 Road test in 2 weeks. I was only charged for driving under a suspension and driving with a G1, the rest of the charges were dropped and the fine for the first 2 charges were also lowered.

Thanks to all of those who gave advice. I just ended up going by myself and explained my situation. I suppose the cops making a note saying that I was really nice and that I understood my mistake and apologized was helpfull...
