Unnessesary Noise

I got busted for this one in aug on my birthday 3am 2nd day with the car got a little excited gave it to her going around a intersection got a little sideways(gota love RWD). 30 seconds later cherrys light up behind me. Sure i could have been charged with wreckless driving but he let me off as unnessesary noise I chose to fight it against all odds cuz im special . My queston is am i fighting against the unnessesary noise...or can the idea of wreckless driving pop up and slap me in the face? If im argueing over the unnessesary noise/wreckless ill state that the road conditions were slightly wet and i was learning stick in a rear wheel drive car. I had only been driving the car for 2 days(that i can prove with documents). I let the clutch go without giving it gas which almost stalled out the car so i gave it gas and lost traction but managed to save the car from spinning out in the intersection... What do you guys think? Please dont flame me i kno now drifting on the streets is stupid because im risking my own life and others. It wasnt intentional nor did i want to risk damage to the car or my life as well as anyone elses life around me. Let me know your opinion of wether or not you think they will buy my sumwhat truthfull story. its a lot harder to crack a 1/2 lie than a full lie

I think when the officer refers to his notes he’s going to destroy you. LOL.. pay the unnecessary noise and move on. Last thing you need is having the book tossed at you because you don’t want to pay some little fine...
Considering what you could have got, consider yourself lucky.

^^^ Yup. If the officer shows up in court, and says you were sideways, the judge is not going to look at it any better. You might end up cahrged with something else. Honestly, I'd just pay the fine.

AMD: The unnessessary noise was for the tires squeeling not the muffler.

Now some are telling me unnessessary noise is 2pts? i went to the cop station in streetsville and they told me it was 2pts is this true? Just wondering if this can or will have a deffinate change in what i pay for insurance. that will be one ticket for 10 over(reduced from 99 in a 70), unnessessary noise and fail to display 2 plates im sure even tho only ones a moving violation insurance is going to start thinking wtf im doing.

Like AMD said you will be fighting what you got the ticket for the cop will not bring that that up in court, DON"T PAY THE FINE, go to court no matter what, even if you you know you are guilty and have no chance, this is a minor ticket and the officer might not even show up and therefore you'll get off scott free, I belive if you say that you were learning to drive stick, that is a excuse and could only really result in a lower fine and not a win becuase you are essentially saying that you are guilty, try coming up with something lthat would prove that infact the squeel didn't even come from your car.

btw: rear wheel drive totally kicks ***, I can't get enough of it especially in rain or snow, your just flying around everywhere.

i was ing around in a parking lot squeeling my tires pulling hand brake up doing 180s, making the back end slide and .. i just got the same ticket as you. i took it to court they asked me if it was my muffler being too loud. if i got it fixed. the cop didnt show up it got droped. so i didnt have to show anything i was just gonna say i was gluity. it doesnt up your insurance that ticket. its just nosie could be anything.. from tires - your radio.. they dont take notes for that. unless you pissed off the cop. but then he wouldnt of given you that ticket when he could of given you one for careless driving. Just fight it they dont show up for those stupid tickets.

they cant change the ticket.....only time it changes is if they reduced it and that will be in the code box and the bottom right hand corner of the ticket.

Get a receipt showing that your exhuast wast changed.

If that doesnt work when ur at court you just need to prove its not excessively loud. Unfortunatly my muffler ticket whent to trial and i had to cross examine the cop and absolutaly rocked him. If your not a idiot you can figure your way through the trial at court.

Just check the section of the H.T.A. that you were charged under. Most likely its excessive noise not sure the code for that....but in my case the judge let me off cuz i told him i was loud but not excessivlly loud and compared it to other sports cars

Or Harley-Davidsons for that matter. Hell of a lot smaller, making a hell of a lot more noise that squealing tires.

Nothin against Harleys, my dad has one with the Screamin Eagle package. Its louder than my muffler, yet I'm the one constantly being harrassed for excessive noise.
