Well I wont be buying my own car until im 19 now.

Well just as luck has it. I have recieved 2 tickets. One for speeding and another one for insurance. THis happened back in april, im postin it now because it still pisses me off and i havent been apart of the boards for some time.

Just got the G2 and was driving down uppermiddle a cop pulls me over and asked if i was speeding I said no. Then he goes no you were speeding. Say it with me, you were speeding. SO at about this time im getting pissed off. He says hes going to be a nice pig and give me a ticket reduced 20 over, when really i was doing 40 over... Bullshit, a Civic LX 4 door can barley make it on the fuken highway, lol. THen he asks for insurance, being my 2nd day driving, i dotn know what it was, my parents never told me, he asks me to step outa the car and is like sir have you been drinking. Step a little closer for me, so now he thinks ive been drinking. THen he writes me up another ticket, this time 70 bucks. SO totaly 170. I was going to go to court to fight all this bullshit, but parents paid it off behind my back. I was waiting for the last day to book the court appointment. Now thats bullshit. Now i have 3 demerit points gone, and the hope of buying my own car has gone down now due to how much im paying for insurance on a secondary driver.

Smack your parents in the mouth and then go to the courthouse and ask for an appeal. I don't know if its possible... maybe it is. I'm sure someone else will correct me.

well agree with me or not i dont' care. i am also new to the driving world but not as new as u i can see. you have to learn a couple things before u can have an addittude like you do. ovbiosubly i don't blame you for being pissed. you can't blame anyone except yourself. lets see here , second day driving i'll give u some slack but if your mature enough for driving you should know wut insurance is, either life insurance, house, car what ever it may be. anyways it's your second day driving FRESH as can be, your going down upper middle and yes i know it's fun to speed down there, anyways you going if i'm not mistaken 40 over? and you are gonig to get pulled over hands down, the cop pulls you over and asks for yur insurance, and getsthe reply, whats that? he's ovbiously going to think somethings wrong and trust me a friend of the family is a cop and he tells me all this bullshit he gets from punk drivers, (like me and you). now, you reply with no clue to what insurance is so he asks you if you have been drinking and asks you to get out of yur car and i'm guessing gives you another ticket for what ever he wants to, yes this is prettymuch an un-ended story due to lack of information, anyways gonig back to your speeding part, you are caught doing 40 over the cop cud have pushed it down more but if he had he would get all his speeders being little kids fresh on the road speeding not caring or knowing what could happen, going 120 in a 50 or what ever it may be. yea so therefore x(as in this article) = shut the up when you get caught for doing sumthin your not supost to do. omg mom! i killed someone and the cop caught me and i got in trouble! those stupid cops! no man it's your own fault if u don't want a cop pissing you off down **** him off. now don't go get yur panties all up in a bunch and try to take your gino beats out on me i am a newr driver aswell i speed, but when i got a ticket i didn't go bitch about it, actually i was tellnig all my firneds on how good they were hiding, cuz you would n't beable to c them unless you were like 10 feet away from where they were shooting ya so anyways slow the down or shut the up

Couldn't he have seen that i had insruance by putting the car in the computer and then seeing i am related to the people and i do have insurance... Well of course its possible, but more work for him. Probably pissed off, or speeding ticket quota not met... Well anyways, im not pissed about it, b/c it happened in april and i guess it taught me a lesson, dont speed, or well dont get caught lol. Well in general it taught me dont be stupid and it was good it happened then b/c i could have killed myself or even worse someone else. But i think back then i was more mortified then anything. But now i joke about it.

Insurance records do not come up when the police call or type in your plate. I'm sure police would like that feature. To make it happen, all insurance companies would have to be "on-line" with the Ministry of Transportation. Then if someone was to get insurance and cancell it would immediately show upon checking of a licence plate. Just renewing plates every 2 years with a valid insurance slip doesn't mean someone hasn't cancelled their policy the very next day, but still have the valid insurance card to show the police.

Its not that easy anymore, I'm sorry to say... If i were to buy my own car and try to insure it under my parents, and ptu me secondary, it would be pretty expensive for the both of us. Ontop of that, the insurance company would automatically put me as priamry because there is 3 people with licenses in my house and 3 cars, if i were to buy the new car.

Well it sucks to hear that it happened to you. At leas the cop bumped it down for you. I got caught speeding 21km/h over and cop didn't even reduce it for me. But i'm gonna book a court date to get that reduced. But yeah, 40kmh is really too much especially on uppermiddle. It's not that bad if you're on the highway and there's not many cars. But doing 40kmh on uppermiddle in a 4 door civic = really not safe. And be happy that your parents paid off the ticket for you and that they pay for your insurance as well and let you drive their car. Is it just me or is it just normal for most oakville kids to not be grateful for the little things that their parents do for them?

But about that quota ..... i think 40kmh over the speedlimit definitely woulda attracted a cops attention, quota or not. I dont think that it had much to do with the quota since he even bumped it down for you.

Whereelse on my case, the cop just told me that i was going 21kmh over and gave me a ticket for 21kmh over right away. This was on the last week of july btw.

But i learnt my lesson.
