Whats wrong with this ticket?

I got a parking infraction ticket for parking on my street in front of my house on top of the sidewalk which was in front of my house. On the ticket it says that i have NO valid area / street permit displayed on my vehicle, but i do have a permit on my windshield and it is infact valid. Should I take this to court right away or wait a couple more days.

By the way, the ticket is for $60 -stop-on/over sidewalk Code No. 30

The fine for no permit is $20.

The fine for parking on the sidewalk is what you got.

Why don't you wait about 8 weeks and see what they ding you for?

If it's a Toronto ticket, the tick-off for the $60 sidewalk offence is a couple of sections away from the $20 no-permit offence. There's no way you can see a $60 fine and a no-permit infraction at the same time.

Scan the ticket and put it up.

there was also no parking spot available on my street to park and so i had to park on the sidewalk. and half the people that do park there , dont even have a permit and i do.

Well you can't park on or over the sidewalk. Neither can your neighbours, permit or not.

That's like me or anyone else deciding to park on your lawn because there's no parking available on the street.

3nidapooh 03-15-2005 03:09 AM

Yea i agree but what about the people with no permits that are parked on the street, they didn't get a ticket

3nidapooh 03-15-2005 03:11 AM

so what am i supposed to do just wait in my car for 3 hours until someone moves then i can get a spot. Anyways i'm going to request a trial tomorrow at york civic centre.

Take that a little further...

Not all thieves get caught, so what the hell.

Not all murderers get caught, so what the hell.

Still ok to do as others do so long as you don't get caught? Where do you draw the line?

But you did get caught, so what the hell. You did it, so be a man, stand up, own up, and pay up.

Or what the hell, be a weasel.

or maybe did u think that he ignored where everyone else was parking cus he saw a ing car parked on the sidewalk... so he went over and ticketed your ass, just like any other Toronto ticketer would.. just dont park on the sidewalk next time and that would save you a lot of bullshit that u dont need.

Fighting something that wont impact your insurance or record one bit is so ing stupid.

But i can see someone trying to save 60$ when they're an unemployed peasent..

dude its the principle involved, there was no park on the street, there's ice on the sidewalk , where am i supposed to go. Just wait to get a park and keep driving around until my gas is used up, cause you can't idle more than 3 mins on my street so, you tell me what to do?
and no this is not the first ticket that i've gotten. parking, speeding, and another one. and i won all of them.

What principle is involved? That you should be exempt from parking tickets if you park illegally?

There's no parking on the street so you decide to block the sidewalk that is intended for pedestrians? Why are your parking needs more important than free passage for pedestrians, wheel chairs, and those three- and four-wheeler electric scooters the handicapped use?

If there isn't parking nearby, park farther away. If the problem is people parking without overnight permits, call parking control.

But if you knowingly park illegally, don't whine when you get the parking ticket you deserve.

dude i was parked on the ice, which was almost on the sidewalk, i was parked on the ice but on the ticket it says that i was parked on the sidewalk. And no there was no park on the entire street from beginning to end of it. and i got the ticket at 11:55pm.

3nidapooh 03-16-2005 01:10 AM

And i did call toronto parking enforcement but they didnt do anything. All they told me to do is wait for a park. So you guys tell me wat i should do if this happens again tomorrow night when i have no park, what do i do?
