Long weekend, hwy 400 south, old beat *** ford aerostar, doing 125km. The cop pulled 4 of us over. c5 vette, 2dr. benz, audi TT and me. what the ? got nailed with 150km in a 100, went to court, dropped to 49 over. Don't get me started on what kind of ******** cops are. 300 and something dollars plus points! I give anybody $100 right now if you show me an Aerostar that will do 150km without falling apart.

A few yrs back I was pulled over by 4 Waterloo Region cruisers... they had me doing 180 in a 60 zone - I was heading up highway 8 to sportsworld and they got me off the exit

Funny thing is a few cars with my friends were behind me - calling my cell to let me know that a group of cops were passing them - but I missed the call.

So it was me and a buddy in my 240sx w/3 girls piled in the back. They never even asked for me to get out - just looked around the car - asked how fast I was going, and my reply was 120 - they told me not to lie... and explained they could tow the car, take my license, make us walk home etc... but nothing happened, the officers were actually pretty decent about the whole thing now that I look back.

I received a summons to appear in court - and they let me have my car and license and told me to drive safe...

So I went to court (with a lawyer), received a fine of $880.00 and NO points and nothing on my record.

This is nothing to be proud of, but in total I have had more then $7500 in tickets - and I had my license suspended once for a yr.

I get harrassed, and just for normal driving - like pulled over because of the color of the car, and other stupid things they say - and they try to find reasons to issue a ticket - but I have NO accidents (not saying speeding is right) but really - why can a car do 220km/h etc.. why is a speed limit on a highway 90km/h when everyone travells 120 (so the gov't can make more money) I sat in court one morning and witnessed them make $35000 (in less then 4hrs) seriously - but still - this was only one morning at one location. Its all about money (not safety for civilians)

Once you have a few tickets - you are more or less screwed (not getting any breaks from the officer that has just pulled you over)

I have recently found out that you can file complaints on officers - if you see a cause to do so - and this shows up when they pull you over - and they will be more hesitant to giving you a stupid ticket for nothing. (if anyone knows more about this - please post)

My #1 mistake - not fighting my tickets from day one - I always paid the fines and had a lawyer only on a few occasions when I really needed one.

I have had several tickets for a loud exhaust, improper lighting, improper display of plates etc... (tickets like this can easily be reduced in a resolution meeting)

Oh well - thats my story

I think I hit top speed in the aerostar when it blew a head gasket and was on the back of the tow truck.

I believe that having HIDs on a car that did not come stock with them is illegal. But a lot of people have them, and cops aren't really picky unless they're pissed off by it shining in their face... so HIDs probably won't get you in trouble if you aim them slightly lower
And improper lighting will be ricey stuff like undebody neons, windshield wiper leds, neon license plate covers, etc...

I believe they made it illegal to sell HID kits in ontario now ?? so, any plug and play kit will potentially get you a ticket. I can't find the link righ tnow, but I remember a few yrs ago, there was a huge out roar from the aftermarket industry.....

Use HIDs from one of the major car manufacturers and retro fit them. Generally more expensive, but they look awesome and are legal.

I was nailed going to Barrie one night (3am). I was doing 130-140km/h up the 400 with nobody around. This girl I was giving a ride to asked if that was the fastest the car goes, so I took it up to about 215-220 and then the road started getting a bit curvey, so I realized it was stupid to be going this speed. I slow down to about 160-165 (Which seems like normal cruising speed after you're doing 200+). Mind you, there's absolutely nobody around. Suddenly I see these white lights appear maybe 6 car lengths behind me... First thing that went through my mind: Ooo, challenger... I'm considering downshifting.... Then the cherries went on. I felt stupid. Stupid male ego... never again! So I pull over right away and it was OPP I believe. I just leveled with him after some BS we exchanged. 'Look, it's 3am, I'm just trying to get her home so her dad doesn't flip out and I have work in the early morning.' So he asks where I work, etc. I tell him, he asks if I have any warrants, etc...

The kicker was that my registration was stolen a few weeks ago and that was one of the first things I told him. I follow up with 'But the car's mine..' So he radios it in and I hear dispatch reading the info back to him then she adds 'The vehicle's tags are expired.' He's like 'Oh, this is just getting better, isn't it?' Luckily the cop was pretty nice. He gave me a ticket for my expired tags and reduced it to 129 in 100, instead of 165 (MAN am I lucky I decided to slow down when I did). -- I didn't fight the ticket, which looking back I should have done.

My second ticket, well, more like my next 4 tickets, which happened in ONE night, happened on the DVP. I had popped a fuse and couldn't locate it (It turns out it was a main fuse in the engine comparment that was labeled in a cryptic way in the owners manual). So to make a long story short, I didn't have any interior lighting (couldn't see my speedo too well), and had no tail lights (But I did have brake lights). So I'm moving with traffic, doing 120km/h in a 90, see a patrol car with rear-ward flashing lights (He was up ahead in the right lane), so I slow down and get into the middle lane. Since I don't want to draw attention to myself, I continue moving with the flow of traffic, which is 110. He gets behind me, realizes I have no tail lights and starts shadowing me in my blind spot. I'm being paranoid now and watching my speedo. But since I don't have interior lights, I'm waiting for the exterior light poles to shine up my interior... as a result, I'm following the curves on the road slightly slower than I should (In other words, I'm going up to the white lines in my lane, but I never crossed over). So yeah, the cop pulls me over and gives me 4 tickets:

- 110 in a 90 (3 points I think), not having my rear license plate lit up, something about not being able to stay in my marked lane (3 points) and some other BS ticket. All because he noticed I didn't have rear lights. (I had only popped my fuse 3 hours earlier that night).

The court date is in August. I've been verrrrrrry good ever since though.

In the winter I had my fuses blown at school too (interior lighting and dash board). So I descided to drive home anyway, its only like 7 minute drive. Just as I get on my street, a cop is driving towards me, its like 2 am. I look in my rear view mirrior and see him make a U-turn. He caught up to me and pulls me over in my drive way......asks me all the questions and stuff.......check my record and didnt get a ticket. I have a perfect record and I drive a custom painted purple integra with tinted windows and exhaust and its under my moms name and he didnt even give me a ticket at all. So LUCKY!!

2 years ago, I was involved in a high speed persuit. It ended up with me upside down (the car on it's top) and a bunch of charges. What I got charged with was "Escape by flight wilfully engaged in police pursuit", "140 in a 60 km zone" (The speeds I reached were much higher than that) and " Disobey stop sign". When It was all said and done, I paid $1600 in fines and 7 points. If the courts had a brain what so ever, I should have done a minimum of 2 weeks in jail and $5000 in fines and up to 6 months in jail and $25000 in fines. Juring trial, the prosecutor had read to the judge what we had plead down to, but the judge failed to repeat them for the record, and because of a somthing as stupid as that, I walked with minor . As soon as we left the court house, the Prosecutor called my Lawyer saying that he was going to appeal the convictions but never did. In the end, I didn't really pay for what I did but my insurance hiked from $3800 to $15000 a year. I am still waiting for it to come down, hopfully in the next 3 years.

I just wanted to add I just got my 45 ticket last wednsday. And thats not counting parking tickets.

guyz, all ur stories sound pretty wild and believeable, but i think i might have u all beat..

i don't like to brag about it and it's prolly the single thing that i regret the most in my life, but i was working one night around 7pm delivering pizza. i had one of those urges to put the pedal to the metal on a fresh stretch of pavement. i passed the school area when i saw a cruiser parked in a parking lot on the side of the road. i immediately hit the brakes to slow down to as slow as i could possibly go without locking up the rubber. they pulled me over a few blocks away. got out, took a look around the car and came and talked to me. they asked me if i had a pilots license! i said 'no' and the told me if they would've had 10 seconds more, they would've had me on radar, had my car impounded and put me in jail for the night or two.

speed limit = 50km/h (originally 40 since it was a school area)
speed radar = ???
top speed reached = 160-65km/h

they didn't have any idea how fast i was going either. after everything was said and done, i walked away with a 48 hour warning to bring in my original insurance slip, a 24 hour warning to change my bulbs and a suggestion to slow down.

i've given up speeding and racing since then.

4 years ago i was racing an old Sab on the 407 just after weston...i see him start to slow down and wonder why...but by then the opp was on my *** with the lights on. i pulled over right away...160 in 100...

well the cop seems cool then takes my license goes into the car then 15 mins later he comes out yelling with his gun drawn pointed at me yelling at me to get out and put my hands on the car... so i do it...then he put his hundcuffs on me as i turn around 4 more cop cars are behind me and they are all out of their car...then a opp tow truck pulls infront of my car.

the cop starts saying that i should have told him the truth. right away i knew what it was....i was up on some pretty bad charges and he told me that my license was revoked. so there fore i was violating my conditions. now what had happened was 3 days before i went to court and applied for my license back and got it....but when i was pulled over it hadent been processed yet.

so the guy searches my car, trunk, even in my hockey bag. i told him to call who he had to to find out....he did then he said sorry...as he handed my a ticket for 160kmh in a 100kmh and no seatbelt.
