That's a very general question.
A stock weight mk2 jetta with a bone stock vr6 will run mid 14s with a good driver and good tires. Beyond that it depends on the mods and driver, you can build one to run 11s, even 10s if you have the money.

how much does it cost to build a vr6 to run 11's-low 12's non-gutted? I might be buying a mk3 gti but it depends on how much i need to make the golf move vs. my current honda
thanks

If you want cheap speed, VW's are not the way to go...

Depends, if you do most of the work yourself it can be done for about 6000 or so.

yea i know, but i've been seeing more and more honda's getting stolen, it ridiculous. even if you have a lip and a duckbill, you're a target. now i'm wondering whether its worth putting money into this car because i can't enjoy the car because i'd be paranoid about it getting stolen; not to mention walking around with kill switches in my pocket and a steering wheel in my hand. can't even go to the store and run in and get something when you have a modded honda.
