What do you all think? First I didn't like it, but then I heard that a 2.0T with FSI and DSG was an optional powertrain and read that apparently some of the Euro's had been chipping the 2.0T's to be quicker than a stock R32.
After that the appearance grew on me. I think it'll be around $27-28 for the new 2.0T. Not sure about the VR6, but some of the Euro's said the 2.0T is nearly 300 lbs lighter than the 1.8T and a lot lighter than the new VR6. I'm beginning to think the VR6 is a bit overhyped or at least wouldn't be worth dropping the extra coin for a VR6 in the newer MKV. If the 2.0T is quicker and more agile, why get a bigger engine?
I think a nice drop, black out the headlight housings, some BBS rims and shave the trunk emblems and perhaps a grill would make it look sick.
I heard it's supposed to drop early 2006, but some people say Canada will get the GTI before the states because apparently we love hatchbacks up here.

Not a big fan of kits, except the 337 stuff, but nonetheless:
Photoshop (Shaved Emblems and did away with the lights on the hatch. I think it looks better)

More features, mainly safety features, etc is what usually accounts for the extra weight.
just take a look @ the car from the 80's and compare it to one from 2005...

Personally I think it looks like . I think it's a car they could've done a lot better on had they really tried to work on the style.. this seems half-assed to me. It'll probably grow on me a bit, but I'm still disappointed. I was hoping for something a lot nicer out of the next generation of Golf.

This one looks like a CTR. What the hell!
Here's a few links to view the similarities of the two.

The frame in itself is 57% STIFFER then compaired to the MK4...
I think it looks pretty good in stock form... once they're modified they can looks really nice.
and now they finally have IRS, a new 2L Turbo a good gearbox that won't blow up...
The GTI is playing all good cards this time around..
