nice cars..

but really poor performance and expensive parts..(i used to own two vw's)

plus i dont like the owner of that green mk3 1.8t

B6T 02-21-2005 08:33 PM

I agree... VWs are nice cars, but parts are SO expensive for what you get. The cars are even a rip off to begin with... lets spend $35,000 for a car that still uses a torsion beam rear axle, and could get out-handled by a Toyota Echo. :knock_tee

You probably wouldn't hear me repeat this after a ride in my friends APR Stage III Jetta 1.8T... that car is FAAAAAAAST. The 1.8T is an awesome engine.

it is....and can hold up so much boost on stock internals...plus lil bolt ons make impressive hp :thumbsup

General 02-21-2005 09:02 PM

Vw's all the way... too bad alot of ppl are ricin them out now a days

jdmracer 02-21-2005 09:27 PM

yea well id rather spend that money on a vw then on any honda talk about not worth the money

Scarboroughdub 02-21-2005 11:22 PM

I dont think parts are as expensive as a honda for example if you were to build a motor up for boost turbos cost the same they are not vehicle and cost specific and manifolds also cost in the similar range same as pistons. this also applies to suspensions and so on so when you guys say they are way more expensive i would have to disagree and who says you cant get a vw to handle with some coilovers you can make anything handle.

plus honda's are :supergay:

skillton 02-21-2005 11:25 PM

Bottom end can even be cheaper to build up compared to hondas, since you dont have to sleeve the block, and most of the vw rods/cranks are good for 300-400whp.

Scarboroughdub 02-21-2005 11:27 PM

Holy dig this thread out of the archives. Over a year, no posts.

wacKo 07-11-2006 10:24 PM

id like to see an old school mk1 or 2 golf or jetta with a bmw front end conversion

what do you guys think?:dunno:

Eks17 08-13-2006 11:10 PM

conversion

that jetta conversion looks so mint

MrStokic 09-26-2006 07:25 PM

am i the only one who doesnt like the jetta front end conversion? i think the mk4 front end looks wayyy better, the whole car is more round the sqaure lights dont look like they fit the car at all, which they dont and ppl who put them on have serious money to waste on something that looks foouuulll

Give me a few, I'll find it. My VW folder is somewhere around 900 meg, so it might take a bit.
Edit: Found it.

voltar 09-27-2006 09:49 PM

LOL it looks so odd...

ok yeh that looks like crap, it looks sloppy.. but i think it COULD look good, and i say that because i think u need to spend more then 5 minutes on a conversion, lol seriusly wthh ..ok heres a slightly fixed up version of the first pic,
i put the fog lights wider apart so they lign up with the outer headlight,
fixxed up the grill..imagine that chrome, with some nice wire rims,
license plate is gone,
the hood wasnt lining up with the body too well so i fixed the gap,
front turn signals looked weird, took them out,
and the plug hanging out is gone

rabbitman 09-28-2006 04:13 PM

Meh, nice job, but I still think it's hideous. If you want something that looks like an older 3 series, buy an old 3 series. I want the truck in the background though.
