Welcome to last year.
OLD,
and those pics were not of the rumored Supra, but pics of Toyota upcoming Supercar the LFA.
Dont bother counting on Toyota to make the Supra anytime soon, they've got their hands full with the Lexus/Toyota Supercar LFA being developed, and their planned domination of all forms off motorsports (except WRC )
if anything, Toyota is waiting on the release of the next Skyline...err sry I mean GTR, to see if it successeds or not, if the SKyline is successfull, Toyota, myabe, just maybe might produce the Supra.
BUT
First and foremost, they are a business, and their business is to sell the most cars out of anyone, thats why they make cars like the Rolla, Camry etc...
where the Sports car market is limited, not very big.

I think its too much of a modern looking change compared to the old supra. They should atleast make the body style similar (ei. long hood and front end with not the most agressive light with big fat *** rear)

Toyota IS developing a new Supra, 2 models a V6 and a V8. No turbos here. Turbos are not used for performance anymore unless your car is an SRT4. They;re used to make you think the car has a bigger engine (1.6L that feels like a 3.5V6) They are also being used as turbos are much like displacement on demand (using atmospheric pressure...ie Boost to raise and lower displacement) For power AND fuel economy. The GTR I hear will be V8 also but hear rumours of TTV6..I think you'll see it with V8 too. Oh and before some 12 year old comes on and tells me Iam an idiot and turbo supercars go against what i say, iam not. Iam reffering to the bullshit turbo Acura, Mazda SUVs and family sedans, BMW 3 series etc..they;re not there for what they use to be there for.

FlyBYNIGHT - pLZ plz shut the **** up.
THe next GTR is already confirmed to have the VQ series engine with 2, I say again 2 turbos. Nissan already confirmed this, and go watch the vids of the GTR doing laps at the Green Hell, u can clearly hear a waste gate going off.
Even Cosworth, has confirmed its the VQ35DETT (which by the way, Nissan trademarked the engine code VQ35DETT), and why did Cosworth confirm it, because Cosworth is helping Nissan develop the engine, to pull out that extra power only Cosworth is capable off. and one more thing, Nissan already confirmed they wont make a V8 model of the GTR.
Speaking of Turbos, so ur saying that Turbos arent used for performance anymore huh?, so y is Formula 1 looking at bringing back Turbos by 2009, if u want links, I'll gladly give them to u. and why did BMW sports head, Burkhard Goschel say this
"What we are doing in the car industry, and you can see this at BMW, is that we are shifting over to turbo-charged engines with a high-point of efficiency. In the future we will have down-sized engines with turbo-chargers."
IF Formula 1 goes Turbo, and by the looks of it, it'll happen sooner, then Toyota will have no choice but go Turbo, after all, Their heavly invested in Formula 1, and what better way to make something from that huge investment than develop Turbo induction technology. Formula 1 is now trying to make every decision relevant to the Car industry, so when it wants to develop Turbos, it wont be just for the F1 cars, but to the whole of the industry.
and at Shuller1458, really huh, so u work at Toyota, may I ask where and whats your job. as I said already, Toyota is to busy developing their supercar to bother with the Supra, like it or not, they want to see a shitload of cars, and Supra doesnt make any economical sense, there is just not a big-enough market for cars like the Supra, why spend 5billion dollars developing a sports car that will sell what 50,000 a year, when u can spend that 5 billion dollars developing the next camry that sells 300,000 in a few months. You tell me what makes more sense.

Hellbent-
if they dont make the supra because it wont sell as much as the camry, why would they develop a supercar, which also wont bring in sales numbers
these cars are to attract people to the brand, even though their not for sale, or sell in low numbers, i want to say more but i gotta get to work like just now lol,
also hellbent, your quote kinda goes with what flybynight is saying so i dont kno why your arguing with him
