Long time with no updates, time to get caught up.

We got all the panels, console, and **** out. Leaving the dashpad in and we're just going to mask stuff off and dye it.

The panels looked alright after I scrubbed a little, but we decided to dye them anyway. This is after the wash, before the dye.

Decent, but still a little bleh.

I think we're going to box out the trunk with fiber-board. It should make mounting the sub and amp a little easier.

Finally got the headliner and put it in using the original headliner board.

And yeah, we sanded this down to pure board.

When it sat over the weekend, the little ripples came out of it. It looks really smooth now.

The audio stuff came in, all we're missing now is a good headunit.

2 Pioneer 440w max, 80w RMS 4-way 6x9's
1 Pioneer Champion 10" 800w max 350w RMS subwoofer
1 Pioneer mono 800w sub amp

Now we have the panels re-dyed, they look brand new. I'm surprised.

WEEE! Carpet!

More updates when we get it back together. Now we just have to wait on a cool day.

Rubbed everything down with paint thinner to get a clean surface, bought paint (they call it covering or something, but it's dye) that is made for vinyl and plastic (also works on the metal trim pieces) and sprayed it on, let it sit overnight and then sprayed a clear on to seal it.

We used a brand called SEM, but Dupli-Color and some other brands make it as well.

Not sure what you mean by chalky, but if you get the piece down to a clean surface so that the coat will stick, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

My panels were "chalky" enough that the SEM stuff definitely did not work.

Nice progress. I started my interior two years ago and still havent completed it yet. Yours is all just a factory resto though right?

Right. We aren't trying to build a show car, just a nice cruise/weekend car.

We've made some progress. Slowly but surely.

Gah! Cutting up the car! :/

The 6x9 amp turned out to be fried, and the capacitor looked cool, but was just in the way.

More cutting.

I think we're going to seal the trunk and carpet it all eventually.

The dash turned out pretty well.

Bulbs replaced. Everything appears to be in working order.

The bezel was really ******. Instead of repainting wood grain or buying a new one, we went with a hammered copper look. I think it really sets the dash off.

Slowly getting trim and stuff back together. The flash makes a lot of shadows which makes the tan interior look blotchy. In sun light it doesn't looks brand new.

And of course the YouTube video of the finished stereo.
