1. i thought you had a 3.8...
2. how is installing cast iron heads a mistake? the engine should run fine? on a flow bench the iron heads actually flow better than aluminum.

1. Damn rights I do.
2. How isn't it a mistake? Cast iron heads are heavier, for starters. Aluminum also dissipates heat better, resulting in a cooler running engine. Most people with the iron heads upgrade to the aluminum heads. The cast iron heads were used on the LT1 Impalas, which produced 260HP... the aluminum heads on the LT1 F-Body produced 275HP (MY93-95). Are you taking notes? Don't you think you'd see Corvette owners installing cast iron heads on their cars if it was a benefit?

1. i was talking to the creater of this thread.
2. yes, i know all of that. i never said it wasnt a beneficial mistake. im just saying the heads are the same and the engine would still run. i read "mistake" as something bad happened when he installed them.

when i said i made a mistake i mean everything that u are suppose to do before u install a pair of head u are suppose to check the surface of the block and heads corrosion ,oil and make sure that both are flat....and ur suppose to buy new head bolts and use a tap to clean the head bolt holes....which i didnt do....next the heads need to torqued in three steps and make sure u have thread sealant which i didnt have......so i had major coolant leaks.Today most of the engine is put back together except for the y pipe alternator and some hose..i will put pics later
