Pictures of my Engine
Just so that we're clear,....I'm "NOT" posting these pictures because I think my motor looks good. In fact it's just the opposite. As you all know, I've posted tons of pictures of my car, but none of you have ever seen my motor.
So after admiring and commenting on Loochy 88's Super Clean engine compartment a few weeks back, he asked me if I had any under-the-hood photos, and I promptly told him No Way Dude,......aside from a few intake pieces and a STB, there's nothing worth looking at. It's my daily driver, and it gets driven in the rain almost on a daily basis.....therefore it's always dirty.
Well,......I finally decided I don't care anymore, so here's a few pictures of my "Dirty engine compartment". The first 3 pictures were after installing the STB back in December when I lowered the car. The rest were taken about a week later when I did the Airfoil, Elbow, Descreened MAF, and the cheap eBay CAI. Who cares,...it's still better than the stock filter, and it's reusable just like a K&N.
What should I do next to make it look better?.........besides detailing it.

you know what would look badass? IMO
If you took the tangerine from the flames your putting on, and brought it into the engine bay. You could re-paint your STB to match, and maybe get some FRC's and paint some mini-flames on em' Just a suggestion.

Personally I'd love to rip about half this stuff out of here, but then it wouldn't run. I still prefer the older muscle cars prior to 73. After that they started adding all the smog control crap and eventually the computer controlled things, but hey......I'm coming around, slowly but shirley.....hahahahaha, I just realized how I spelled surely. I have a sister named shirley, so I guess it a habit.

yea thats why i took out all the dumb emmisions crap. it REALLY helps clean up the engine bay, basically when i did my headers i made everything extremely more simple. and thats why i got the fuel rail covers to make everything look clean and uniform under there.

get rid of the heat wrap on your wire harness on the back passenger side then remove the yellow FUEL warning tape on the fuel lines. i did that and it made it a lot cleaner. also try painting the blue sleeves on your intake red. that would really look good.

So I guess I better go out and look for the Traction Control ****, and also remove the Caution Labels and other stuff Caleb mentioned. I'm not to sure about painting the rubber sleeves Red though. I still need to decide what color combination I want to go with. As far as the A/C and other emmissions stuff goes, I'll be moving to So. Cali. in the next two years, so that stuff has to stay on.
But hey, Thanks for all the suggestions guys!

IMO dont paint flexible rubber like that. it will crack and look like ****. get the color rubber that you want. i think black would look best on the rubber elbows. then dress up the bigger peices like STB and maybe some FRCs and get the tangerine color under there like mentioned earlier.

I don't think there's any way I'm gonna get any FCR's on this engine. There's way too much stuff that has to stay on there for me to be legal in So. Ca. when I move down in a couple years, or else I would.
