Alpine Type R vs. Infinity REF6010 Components

I'm a bit of an audio newb. I want to get a component system for my car (92 civic hatch) and i'm trying to decided on alpine type r's or the infinity ref6010. i tried searching, and all i've found is that alpines have a little too much base up front (?).

i'm looking for good sound, clear sound, and if it makes a difference, primarily rock, alt. rock, trance, dance, and 80's songs are gonna be played through my sony HU.

any suggestions? thanks in advance

I have infinity's and they pound if I turn my system up to 40 they hurt peoples ears in the car I don’t think I would want anymore base in a civic and there only 2x10"

I haven’t had any problems with them at all I ran them in my car all winter even in the -40 weather....lol and they still sound amazing and I think they will most likely be a bit cheaper then the alpine

this is the link to the ones i have

Infinity - Car Audio

i dont know were you found the ref6010 because im pretty sure its not even on there website

Leung can only hope to improve
Everyones preference is different use your ears and demo both on music you know. Both are good however alpines need more amp power to run it in comparison.

ive heard the infinity model before and yea the sound is just awesome
i would go for a good 4 chan amp (sq if possible) to really make it shine
Also the infinitys can handle more power then the type-rs ( 55rms vs 75rms)

my input:
Ive heard the Infinity 6010CS, there pretty nice. they dont "pound" but...if ur the kinda guy who liikes:
Ear Peircing pitch, and extremely high frequency, then these are for u.

never heard of alpine components but i heard that they produce a more "naturalistic" sound.

alot of ppl confuse clarity with natural sound.

ex:
Infinity = earpeircing however they seem "extremely clear"

MBQuarts = all round with a more natural sound.

however...infinity 6010cs' r pretty cheap (price) and alot of people perceive this as "clear"...which is y i wud choose them over any components

Jus my 2 cents

what do you mean "ear piercing" and "natural sound"? lol, im not an audio guy, so these are unfamiliar to me.

to be honest, im looking for decent speakers that can do an as good a job as my dads stock '03 non-jbl sound system. i thought alpine was the though, thats why im suprised people are saying go with infinitys.

infinity SPEAKERS are amazing man., there amps/subs...not the greatest.

dont get me wrong..alpine amps, and headunits r amazing too. its hard to explaining the natural sound and ear peircing.

i personally prefer the alpines...i've had infinity's before and they are good as well but i noticed that the alpines can take a harder beating if u do need to crank them up.
