Which amp! rockford vs alphasonic
rockford fosgate x7 1500watts rms at 2 ohms
OR
Alphasonik PMA800HCA 2900rms at 1 ohm
i just wanna know what amp you think is a better buy for power, reliability, performance etc. i always thought alphasonic was low end but it says 2900rms.
what would you choose if sub wiring wasnt an issue?

Sub wiring and power handling would probably be an issue for me cuz i like to match up the amps to the load the subs present. Another thing to consider is the power each amp is going to consume to produce its rated power. Also cosmtics, features and of course the price. Most important for me tho is the sound. Being as those two amps you are looking at are totally different beasts its hard to make a pick. What are you going to be running?

most likely 2 mtx 9500's or 8500's.. not too sure... just wanted to know what people would pick if they bought the amp before everything else..if you had to pick between them

Both of the Alphasonik and the fosgate give pretty good power and reliability. As far as Alphasonik being "low end ", like most companies they have a range of thing from entry level , mid line, mid/high lines available depening on budget. In fact, Alphasonik and Audiobahn are owned by the same guy.
Well if I had to pick ( and the alternator in the car could handle it) i would go for the extra power of the bigger amp especially if I was going with two or three 9500 15's , if i was going with a set of 8500's then the fosgate would suffice.
There are a few pros and cons to each amp tho.
Other options you could look at are one of the class D alphasonik amps like a PMA800DA or the PMA1000DA.
Actually, I would skip both the alpha and the fosgate and go for an amp from US Amps lol.

old school rockford kicked *** i had a 500a2 reliable as hell......but in your situation i would go the fosgate T10001BD (1000 w @ 1ohm) awsome mono block amp and if you want to go really def T20001Bd 2000 clean watts at 1 0hm stable

Both Audiobahn and alphasonik are owned by the same guy. Not all the products are the same tho, but a lot are.
