Question Is a box divider needed?

If you run a pair of subs off of a mono block amp do you still need a box divider to give each sub it's own air space or can you just run one big box?

well i'm going to do that simply to strenghten the box. and it probably would be a good idea to do it also to give each sub its own volume. i think if it was wide open it would perform the same as a ported box.

It really depends on the type subs you use... and what they require for air space...

if its a sealed box i would say do it... my box is sealed and i dont have a divider and i kinda wish i did because there is only so much air that can get in there so when 1 sub moves out it sucks the other one in.. i think it kinda restricts the bass but then again i dont know that much about subs.

Subs should not be in out of phase from each other in a sealed box.

teh amp has nothing to do with a box divider, a divider means you'll need a little bigger box (subs need less space when you add multiples) I usually add a stiffing brace if it's a big box and anything less than 3/4 mdf
