I've been running a panasonic for a few years now. Its got the Sirius interface built in (not the FM modulated one) and I love it. Its got front, rear, and sub pre-amp outs.. The sub-pre amp out really helped improve the sub definition instead of using the crossover in the amp.

I've got it hooked into a Lightning Audio Strike S600.4 and a Lighting Bolt S200.2. The Sub is a 10" Kenwood.

My only complaint, is that even with the dimmer set to lowest level, the thing can still blind you at night lol.

Ok, well, I ended up getting a Kenwood Excelon XXV-01D....well, its on layaway.

One really nifty feature is the fact that it can measure the g-forces when you turn.

Now I need an amp.....any suggestions there?

Its got a built in gyro (or something like that) that can tell when the car is moving or turning. And why not? Its just plain cool. It can supposedly also measure your 1/4 mile time.....but I'm not sure how that works yet.

one day you'll go to better stuff (premier is pioneers mid line, where excelon is a high end, I've installed both, and for the money the kenwood wins hands down, they make the pioneer seem like those $50 things at wal mart)

Well don't get me wrong i know there is better stuff out there than Pioneer. But for the money that i paid I am satisfied with the quality and performance of my Pioneer Headunit. When i get the ambition to spend more money on a head unit then i will upgrade to something a little more fancy.

Pioneer Headunits are about the only thing i will buy from pioneer, their subs suck IMO. That is why i have JL Audio Subs and Amplifiers. I am not a competition music person, but when i want it loud, they play loud and clear. If i ever want to do some mild competition I will just buy some W7 woofers and go from there.

and lose
Most people who I've shown coparitively priced stuff from clarion, kenwood or panasonic have dropped pioneer (for teh money you can get better sound and more features)JL has a wonderfull ad company, but they are not as great as people think
