Help with deck !!!

I have an old kenwood deck I took out of my old car and the reason for that is because one day the deck decided to just start opening and closing on me. All the deck does now is get power - opens up loses power - then closes again, and does that in a cycle. Would anyone know why this would be happening and possibly how to fix the problem.

Sometimes there is a reset button on the deck that could possibly fix a problem like this.

I believe I found the reset button underneath the faceplate, but it doesn't seem to stay on long enough for it to do anything unfortunetely.

It's the ribbon cable, common problem on older Kenwood decks.

is it worth fixing or getting a new cable, or would it be best just to get a new deck.

To fix the ribbon cable will cost around $80.00-$100.00
