all 6x9's sound like crap yes, they are the wrong shape to make sound, too small for the frequencies they are supposed to be doing, mid bass works with a 6 1/2 round speaker as the smallest (thruthfully to do it right it should be no smaller than an 8 for anything bass)
|
yeah well if i do do the swap im gonna get the 6 1/2 but i was just thinkin about the 6x9 in the trunk, u kno the bose sub if it is able to swap in another 6x9 and have it work as well with the other 4

whay not amke an 8 fit? it's easy

The BOSE sub's are in the panel behind the driver and passenger on the newer cars with the dual 6x9's in the back. The 6.5's are the subs, not the 6x9's.
When I was lookin into doin the same thing the guy at my local shop said that in order to wire for aftermarket speakers my best bet was to run new wiring to get the best results. The factory wiring for them isn't big enough to get enough juice thru it. So even right there if you are to use it for your aftermarket stuff you might as well take a couple hours and run new wiring. |
wait so joe youre saying the speakers in the back on the bose systems are 6x9? i thought they were 4"?
|
Actually, I was mistaken, they are 6.75" in the car, but the subs are in the back by the rear seat, the rear speakers are in the hatch area.
|
ok see thats what i though u had to run new wire well i dunno ill have to see the 5 bose amplified speakers sound great right now i was just looking at my options
