Alpine isn't over rated, in my book. They are a quality sub if used right they are not going to get you insance DB's they are not made for that. not the e,s,r, or even X for that matter I have to 1242d 12" type S and love them 300rms and i have a memphis 600 to them, works fine and sounds good.....


there componets are better then there subs tho

they might pound but by then they r over powerd and will ether blow or just sound like crap cuz thats all they r. ive never herd a sub match JL quality when they hit the hardest other then maybe a cerwin stroker (old school one), all i had b4 in my car was 2 10w3s and they put out 143db with only 500watts rms. for that other junk u would havta go to 12s and throw like 3000 watts at it and all u would get is bass thats loose and distorted. if it isnt clean and tight it just aight right
