What sub is better?

Choice depends all on budget. You can go from an entry level Alpine Type-E to the not-so-average JL W7. If you want your car to be heard from far away then more money = more power and W7 would definately do the job nicely.

Stay away from the Japanese subs. Go with the Orion or the Kaption. Better quality sub and they both will take the beating
What about JBL

Check out RE Audio Subs. Just plain hardcore. They are tight, clean, can handle any sane amount of wattage and you wont find a bad sub in the whole line. Just my opinion, I'm no dealer.

Depends what you are going for.
Although I will agree with the masses.
The new model Type R's deliver an amazing bang for the buck.
Very solid construction, equally matched by its SQ and even outweighed by its SPL. Can easily take their rated power and then some.

^ can actually take quite a bit more than rated power.
I had over 750 watts rms going to a single 12 and it took it just fine.
I've heard people putting over 1000 rms to it with no problem, but mine didn't like much more than 750 or so.
