you just gotta feel the tranny release the gear then it hits neutral and when u feel it open back up u put it in the next gear.. easier to go 2-3dont force it, just a little pressure and it will pop out of the gear and dont be on the gas when u are puttin it in the next 1, thats what messes up your shift...it opens as the car is slowing down just for a split second, you will probably grind it a couple times.
learned cuz i saw my buddy do it on his 90 jetta once or twice then i just did it on my car. its hard to explain it just works. pullin it out of gear without grinding is easy.

Theres a trick to help the notorious 3rd gear grind.... give it a try believe it or not it wrked for me and alot of other ppl ...

-start your car and leave it in neutral with ur hand brakes up
-rev it at 4500 put a lil pressure to the grinding gear but not enough force to change the gear
-WATCH Out make sure u dont push it too much or ur gears will grind
-keeep it at the spot and keep reving for 10 seconds
-repeat it a few times

hoope this helps

lol obviously its a temporary fix. why would you have to wait to hear it from someone else? if you car is ticking and a little knocking and you put in lucas or some gay stuff and it stops does it mean everything magically swapped out and new parts maigically went in?

and why do you have to get your tranny REDONE? just buy a good used one with no grinds, service it when needed and dont drive like you dont know how to drive standard. also try and stay away from short shifters as they put stress on the tranny. if you cant shift fast enough without a short shifter dont bother lol cause it doesn't make the car super fast like "fast and the furious".

best upgrades to make the car more "JDM" paint the headlights yellow, put your licence plate to the side of your bumper , not in the middle cause its not "JDM" enough. hmm put a "JDM" carbon fibre hood on it with "JDM" hood pins, and if you still have money left over from those big upgrades try and put the steering wheel on the wrong side.
