There is a plate that holds the bumper cover to the fender, the only way to adjust is to hold it where you want it and tighten it down and hope it stays. if you have a hood gap between the bumper cover, try sliding down the hood slightly if it bothers you that much.
SS really nothing more than more appearance and more upfront cost. Honestly you can go a lot faster in a Z28 for the same dollars as you can in an SS. People that think SS are super fast know nothing about performance and going fast.
