Someone likes hard candy.

Anyways I like the idea of shifter lights up there and the shifter boot covering the console. Will a manual shift plate work to replace the auto one so it'll work better?

Don't worry I took care of his little ***!

As for the hammer, if I remember correctly, looks like too much power for our cars . Kinda throws off the rest of the cars look. I think that shifter looks better in older style muscle cars. Like a first gen Camaro or Stang.

Yeah I steal.... err borrow from work and put them there. Good for bad breath .

As for the lights,... well... too many people complained on these boards. And after doing the berger they didn't fit right without hacking away at it with a dremmel. And after all that hard work the last thing I wanted to do was cut it up. Plus I came across these on ebay for dirt cheap and couldn't pass them up. They fit like my factory ones did, so it's a nice change compared to the altezas. Plus they follow the lines better and light up better than the old ones. Sorry man it was time for a change .

WOW !! Just looked at the instruction manual for the "GSS-2003". And I have no idea what the hell it's talking about, other than setting the computer. Holy talito!! I thought it would be a simple hack into the PCM or something.... It wants me to hook something up to the trans. and then it has a bagillion wires to connect all over the place ! ****... not sure where to go from here... Easiest my *** !!

Check it out here.

http://www.dakotadigital.com/pdf/gss-1000.pdf.

Well... I could start work on my next idea . Any idea how to remove the passenger side airbag?

remove the airbag, pull the entire dash assembly (get a service manual to tell you the procedure to deactivate the airbags, they will still go off with the battery disconnected)use a sharp razor knife and cut the parting line where the cover is (you are cutting a hole in the dash pad)if the trans thing seems difficult I wouldn't attempt it 9we set off an airbag at the dealership while it was on the floor, and it hit the ceiling, that was a drivers side, passenger has more force since it's designed to hit the windshield)

Hey, archemedes, the guy from "Shift View" emailed me back. Anyone know what he's talking about ?

Email:

Hi. Do you have transmission range switch wiring
info/truth table for a 99 F-body? I only have W-body
wiring for the transmission/rage switch indication.
If the wiring is the same, you might be able to go to
a junkyard and pluck a range switch decoder circuit
board from the back of a 97-02 Grand Prix and just
wire it in. If not, I'm sure that I can build you a
circuit that uses the range switch information to the
PCM and decode it to light one of and array of LEDs.

I was working on a ShiftView that replaces that
circuit board in the GP dash:

http://users.adelphia.net/~bpaskevic...files/SVRS.htm

I can do the electronics, but I wont' be able to make
a nice enclosure like the one in the pic you sent.

BTW, how did you come across my web site?

Anyone know what he's talking about with a "transmission range switch"?

transmission range switch is what tells the pcm what gear the trans is in (it also does the dhifting, and includes a neutral safety switch) I have an extra one in the trunk of the gp. There is also a little circuit board in the dash that lights up to show where the trans selector is (the gp doesn't have an indicator at the shifter)

Hey anyone know anout this?

He wrote:

Is your transmission a 4L60-E? I believe it shares
the same shift solenoid pattern as the T transmissions
I am used to.

Anyone know if an f-body transmission is a "4L60-E"?
