Personally, I did an aftermarket steering wheel as much to REMOVE the air bag as for looks. Heres my reasoning.

#1. I have a 5 point harness, im not going anywhere.
#2. I am 5'5 tall, and sit pretty damn close because my clutch is pretty deep, and would be afraid of getting donkey punched in the face at 100mph.
#3. I just dont like airbags, having a potentially explosive device sitting in front of me is not comforting.

I'll take a bag full of air over slamming my head into something hard.

I've been the passanger in accidents with both airbags and without airbags. I will never do anything that get's rid of my airbags. They have been proven time and time again that without a shadow of a doubt help out during an accident.

haha, I was about to say that. If its a choice of a potentially explosive bag, or driving my head into a wall at 60mph practically, Ill take the bag of air.

If you hit a wall at 60 mph your pretty much ****** anyway. :banghead:

I was just saying in MY case. The way I sit and the fact that I have a 5 point harness makes one kinda pointless.

well I've stated it before when i swapped out my wheel, I found out after the accident that Epic doesn't have the bags anyway. So I'm no worse off this way than before.

This blows.... I decided that since the tranny needs work I wouldnt worry about buying a new steering wheel and just useing the custom one i had bought a little while ago. Started to put it all together today so i could take some pics for you guys and apearently I'm missing a piece to that wheel now. Tore the house apart to find it only to come across it broken into 4 pieces under the computer desk about 4 hours later. My guess is i had put it and the horn button assmbily on the desk at one point and it fell on the ground only to have the chair roll over it. *sighs*. Now, i can make it work with out all that but it means i won't have a horn button or a horn or anything in the middle. But damn it - thats a half *** look and i can't do that to Epic. Not to mention that the wheel wont be all that secure. So alas, i think this means a new stearing wheel is in store eventually. Any they ain't cheap either.

And yes - no pics.
