shaving door handles

yea after seeing TopLess3rdGen's car with the shaved door handles and roll bar it made me want to copy him. lol. sorry but i promise i will paint it a different color than what ever you paint your car.
OK
heres my questions. I dont have a welder, but could i cut out the indented part of the door, put a flat piece of metal behind it and use some JB Weld or something to hold it in place and than fill the little gap in with bondo? would that work? also about the poppers...where exactly do they go? what is a good brand for them or does it really matter? please, i need all the help i can get with this b/c i plan on doing it this weekend! TIA everyone

lol, ^^^^
just have the body shop do it when you get the car painted. they'll charge you like $100(thats reasonable anyways) as long as your getting other work done.

Yea i agree with paar...Just wait till later for the handles. You take a chance with any popper, thats why you have to have a backup plan just in case they fail. A hood release cable will open the door just fine if the popper or battery do fail.

yea, just cut out a square, then weld in the new piece. use fiberglass putty THEN bondo to smoothe it out. i used to work in a body shop so i can tell ya that with a tiny bit of patience you'll be fine. the welding on somthing like this doesnt have to be perfect, just shave down any bumps.

weld it, if the weld is good enough the fiberglass is not necessary at all (few pros use fiberglass when they do it, just a skim coat of filler)

Does your car sit outside in the nice Indiana winters? Have fun when the doors are frozen and they wont pop open..

Id say not to shave them..
