Test Fitting SS Hood
I took my car up to my buddy's shop last night to test fit my hood, and snapped a few pictures while I was there. Once the hood was on, my biggest fears were confirmed.......it didn't fit worth a sh*t. The rear corners were way too high, so he has to cut material out of the mounting area and sandwich it together, then glass over it to regain the structural integrity.
He's also going to have to add fiberglass to the bottom of the front corners so that he can grind down the top surface to get them down too. So it fits great aside from all four corners being too high. :banghead:
Anyway, heres some pictures of it,......the last two show how he's cutting out the rear section to squeeze it together and bring them down. He's really good with fiberglass so I'm not worried a bit.

As far as getting the corners down..... my body and paint guy is SO good when it comes to fabricating and working with fiberglass, he'll have that thing as smooth as a stock SS hood, and have it line up perfectly with the fenders and front bumper cover in a short period of time. He comes up with these killer ideas right off the top of his head, and makes 'em work.
I'm going back up there Saturday to do a final test fit before he goes to town on it, and hopefully he'll have it done by next weekend.

i think it would be really cool, cause its working on cars but its actually kinda like an art too. i think if i learned i would be pretty good at it and enjoy it a lot but like chad said not much advancement and with bernotas, working on cars is fun but everyday is kinda not too fun.
