Wheels...
As i said in some other thread, I am looking for some wheels to replace the ones I have. These won't be my permenant choice, but something nicer than what I have now for a good price. Here are the two options in my price range.
Gunmetal Vette $359:
Machined Black Vette $376:
I did a real quick chop to see what ones I like better(not the best quality) in order of original, gunmetal, machined black.

if the lip was polished or something, the gun metal might work with me but considering you're planning on hockey stripes it might be too dark, black blue and gun metal are all three dark colors IMO. So I go with the machine black so you have a little shine.

hmm...this is a toughy...honestly i like the wheels you have now. i see the y2ks and think of every other camaro with them. i dont know any other camaro with the wheels you have, so they make you unique, which is your goal.
but...if you must get y2ks...then i say machined because like they said, gunmetal is too dark, plus machined match the CAMARO badge on the side...however gunmetal does look good...
but heres some crappy chops with the stripes for reference:
hmm...forget all that crap i said earlier get the machined with hockey stripes...that looks dam good!!!

Well heres black rims with a black hockey stick stripe.
I really like how that red car looks but I think the machined black will look better on your car..
Oh an by the way he painted behind his grille black and he has a black grille and you can still see it.. Thats for everyone that said the grille would dissapear if it was painted black..

those aren't the hockey stripes that I was going to get, caleb. I was going with sprewell which goes all the way to the back. (the ones on the red camaro) The wheels I have now are CRAP. there is no other way to put it. They are cheap. I called the company because I was so dissatisfied with them, and found out, guess what, they are discontinued. wonder why? They are pitted and even though I used textured spray paint to help, they still look like crap. They were once black chrome, that peeled off in one year. The were sandblasted to remove the leftover chrome, and were so cheaply made that the sandblasting made them pitted. I feel they are really holding the car back at the shows. Nice car, but crappy wheels. When its nice, I'll take a close up picture of them(if my digital camera starts working again). So I need something to make the situation a little better. This picture you can tell a little bit of the pitting:
The whole point of my car is dark now. there is nothing shiny at all anywhere on the car anymore, except the tailpipes. That's why I'm only so-so on the machined. I've been liking the gunmetal for about 6 months now because that's the golor mine are now, but these would be a nice smooth wheel. However I am not gung-ho on the Y2Ks. Its just i have found nothing else at all in my budget, in a size I want, and that looks right. I like black wheels with some polished, that wouldn't be bad, but I hate all black wheels. I like gunmetal, and its not high maintenacnce. What I really want is black chrome but that is out of my budget. My dream wheels that would fit Mayhem PERFECTLY in style, won't fit in reality. The bolt pattern is wrong. Pllus the 17" only comes in 7' wide, which is what I have now, and want upgrade. Grant saw them. They were great. ADR Cypher's. I love 'em.
If my wheels weren't such junk, I would like them alot better. I don't think powdercoating would help either, it would just fill in the pits.
And y'know, Caleb, you are like the first person that actually has ever said that you liked my current wheels.
