1998 camaro rs v6
hey everyone. i have the oportunity to buy a 98 rs with a v6 and a manual tranny with 105000 miles. are there any common problems that many people have had w/ this car? what sort of things should i look for when i go to look at the car? any info is greatly apreciated. i drive a 95 monte carlo z34 rite now with 130000 miles. would it be worth it to sell the monte and buy the camaro? all opinions welcome. thanx

p.s. does anyone know how much more insurance would b going from the monte to the camaro?

check for leaks, imperfections, has there been any major problems with it, has it been in any major accidents, what kind of title it holds, has it been regularly maintained... some things to look for, theres more yet, thats just a start.

alright. thanx. just gunna throw it out here. i live in an area where it snows half the year. my monte is front wheel drive. would it be smart to sell the monte the get the camaro. i mean the reason i would buy the camaro is cause its a bit newwer and has less miles. pluss i am deffinetly a fan of the rear wheel drive and manual trans. but if its gunna totaly suck in the snow and be a killer for insurance.... i dunno

I drive mine in the snow, I just use snow tires and sand, and unless its like 10" Ive never had a problem. Its hard to tell what your insurace would be cause their all different, it depends on your record and sometimes your parents... I pay 120 a month right now, but they havent found my ticket yet, shhhhh.
Where do you live?

its hard to tell with what uve said about the car but if its in good condition and regularly maintined then their really good cars and the 3.4 is a good engine also, i have no clue about the snow though i live in the middle of the desert lol

It's a 98 so im pretty sure it's a 3.8 V6... not a 3.4. And remember, if it's not a Z28 or an SS, most non-camaro people assume it's an RS. But yah, just check for the little things. If it's been taken care of these cars will last.
