oh i wasnt going to put it into a program at all, all i was going to do was tell you if itll make the 350 horses at the crank (thank you for that info) or not. Arch already did it for ya tho so there ya go.

what is it like 15% for standard 20% for auto. If thats flywheel horse power (which it is trust me) Then take 15 or 20 percent away to find out ur rwhp. Thats a rough estimate tho only way to find out is jump on a dyno.

This was also part of ur question if i didnt make up what i think i read

"if rwhp what is the fwhp, if fwhp what is the rear wheel?"

And i answered that part. Im 99.9 percent sure arch gave ya the flywheel hp but if ya dont believe me dont believe me.

i just got off the phone with the machine shop they said about 350hp, did say rwhp, so we will guess fwhp, thats about 297.5hp at the rear wheel, which for a daily driver is not bad, thats what mid to high 12's, i am also putting a aftermarket performance tranny in it. really i dont care, i just want a v8, i will add more hp when i get more money. this engine is costing me 2600 dollars, but everything is new, well the heads are rebuild a little above stock

Sounds a lot closer than that 450-500 estimate. However since it is an LT1 im looking at ur cam lift specs, since its a hydro roller (right?) im guessing the duration is pretty **** small. Honestly I dont think ur cam is big enough to make that 300 to the wheels. LT1 heads what do you mean by rebuilt. As in springs/retainers/guides. Any port work? It think itll torque pretty nicely. I honestly cant say that itll make 300 horses to the wheels unless you can get me some cam specs and tell me a little more about the heads. But hey, if they claim it. Get them to dyno it afterwards. Only one real way to find out.

cam part #cs-1095r, i think, the heads are rebuilt, springs (up to .500 lift)retainers and guides. and it is not a lt1 block, it is a sbc from the mid 70's with 4 bolt mains

that was 280 flywheel, does that place have an engine dyno? if not they have no idea what power they have (many shops do that and have for years just because they think they know)

you need better heads to get more that power. if you build a regular 350 with stock internals but a good cam and heads you will make more prolly than with a 383 with those heads. heads are where you get your power dont go short on them cause u want a bigger engine.

so what you guys are telling me is that this engine will be just like a lt1, 280hp is only 5hp above an lt1

Any head work done? Compression level? Guessing gonna be under 10:1 because of the iron heads. If you can get specs on teh cam it would really help out. Right now I dont think you have enough cam to get that 300 to the wheel level. Lemme know.

the heads are stock 882'2 with machined valves (2.020 and 1.6) instead of 1.940 and 1.5, the pistons are domed pistons (.100) and am now putting .525/.525 lift cam in to (@.050 is 254/254) compression is about 10.5 to 1, run these numbers and tell my what you get, thanks

You have 93 octane in ur city/state? Hope so because 10.5 to 1 compression is pretty **** high for iron heads. I need your deck height and what size head gasket you plan on using then i can give you an exact compression ratio. What kind of intake manifold are you running? ALso what type of rear end gears? Fill that stuff out 4 me and i can get back to you right now im thinkin the cam is way to big for ur applicaiton. But fill out that info for me and well find out. Thats a hydrolic flat tappet cam right? Whats the advertised duration?

this is a conversation that i am having right now, these are the new plans
