NoRiceInside 12-13-2004 07:48 PM

1BADZ 12-13-2004 09:58 PM

yah check and make sure, im pretty sure thats the only years

archemedes 12-14-2004 04:55 PM

the 700r4 was discontinued in '92 it went to the 4l60 (same trans just a bit stronger) an s10 one will work if he has a v6 but you said it's a z so a six trans won't bolt up to an eight (yes the 4.3 one will but it would die a painfull death) 4l60e is the new style that has computer control which is in the '93 up s10's

97z2801ss 12-15-2004 12:28 AM

1993 - With 1993 came the introduction of the latest and greatest Camaro's ever, they are without a doubt the fastest, most powerful Camaro's ever built. The new line no longer contained five or more different Camaro models. It was simplified to two, the sport coupe powered by a 160hp 3.4 V6 and the Z28 powered by conservative 275hp 350ci (5.7) LT1 monster. The convertible disappeared again in 1993 and all Camaro's came with a black roof, no matter what the color of the car. The LT1 was the most powerful GM small block ever put in a Camaro. The Z28 came with 16" alloy wheels and four wheel disc brakes standard. It could be ordered with either a four speed automatic or a six speed manual transmission.
For the fourth time (1967, 1969, 1982, 1993) the Camaro is chosen to pace the Indianapolis 500. This time the pace car had an unmodified LT1 since it was powerful enough to meet the performance standards set by Indy. All of the Indianapolis 500 Camaro's came with a four speed automatic while rumors persist to this day that one was made for a GM executive with a six speed.

1994 - 1994 hailed the return of the convertible with a noticeably stiffer chassis that the older models. The automatic transmission was now the electronically controlled 4L60. :nana: :eleph: The T56 six speed transmission got new gear ratios and the skip shift feature to make it possible to have a manual trans and the 350 and still avoid the gas guzzling tax. Leather is introduced late in the model year in black and graphite.

93 was the only year of the 4th generation 700r4 trans, u caint tell me, i look in the books, i work on these cars man, this trans has been pulled out of the car i am talking about 7 times and rebuilt, know ur info before u try and jump bad, so dont reply if ur not answering to my headline of the post, instead ur tryin to prove some one wrong, but yet ur the wrong one........... :o

yeah that means that in 94 the automatic was an electronically controlled 4L60, which they named the 4L60E; it was upgraded from the non-electronically controlled 4L60.

the trans will interchange with a v6 also, a turbo350 intechanges also throught v6, small block and big block, so does this one!

The 4L60-E is compatible with all 90 degree Chevrolet Small and Big Block style engines, including the Chevy V6.
