'86 engine in an '89

I'm thinking about putting my 305 from my '86 Z28 into an '89 body. I'm thinkin about doing this cause my body is pretty much toast on the '86. The '89 had a 388 in it but the guy took it out and is selling just the body. I gotta put my tranny in too. Does anyone know if this would be a direct fit and if anything would have to be changed. I have never pulled an engine out of a car, but I would be working with my friend (him and his dad put an LT1 in a Toyota pickup, so he knows a little bit haha) any help would be great.

I would want to put in a better motor, but I dont really have a car right now, so the 305 would be fine.

Thanks
