price a full rebuild kit add $500 for machining and the intake, and carb you want, then see where you are cost wise. Looks like a rebuild kit is $419, cam $189, performer rpm intake $203,figure $419 for a speed demon carb your at $1730 then you need teh fluids and misc stuff (would be the same with either engine choice)

Well I have came to the conclusion that I am going to keep my 327 and build it up a bit. Im going to want a new cam, heads, intake, and carb. Anyone have any suggestions on what I could get? I was looking at this cam from summit, its part number is CCA-K12-214-4.

I know you guys are dissapointed that im not getting the big block but I would rather spend the extra $1000 on my motor instead of buying another for $1000 and then adding another $2000 on top of that. I really cant affor any of that right now.

yeah but that big a cam makes drivability an issue (it will work, but bigger doesn't mean better with cams)

yeah...well what do you suggest for a cam?

I forgot to mention that I have a 700r4 tranny with a B & M shift kit. I hear that their good up to like 400 hp without having to do anything to it so i dunno.

the b&m lowers the power a bit (worst shift kit on teh market, known to kill trans.)
here's some info:

http://www.cvsr.net/php/techarticles/areaundercurve.php
this one seems like a decent choice CCA-CL12-211-2
I'd call comp and see what they recomend
