i can understand if you want to go cheap, but atleast put some little muscle into it, like at least flowmasters. like what 80 bucks at your local exhaust shop for a muffler and 2 pipes coming out the rear? trust me the way you sound you want hp so i suggest a full exhaust system to get you your hp. including a set of headers, and hell throw out the cat...right caleb?

why are glasspacks not "putting some muscle into it?" Glass packs, and a dual exhaust, w/headers would be a full exhaust system...

Thanks Jessica. I feel pretty lucky to have this Camaro.

HONDA MY ****! I put a cherry bomb on the Malibu Classic and all the Harleys in my neiborhood ran away with their fenders between their lregs! All it is is an aucustic chamber. You can drill holes in it to change the sound. (betchya didnt know that )

My Brother and I HotRodded a Malibu once and I'm just thinking of aplying those same techniques on this camaro. We ripped out all the smog stuff and ran a strait 3" exaust. We bolted on an Eddlebrock intack manifold and blew out the cam 3 weeks latter....to much power, so we replaced that with a mid cam and that car ran like a scalded **** ape. That 74 Malibu blew away a 1994 3000GT I S##T you not.
You know that Malibu had a single barrol carb, and to this day I can't get folks to believe me.

Anwho...Were a long way away from normally aspirated engines so I have no idea how the computers will react to a massive change in airflow.

All the car nutz around here tell me to go with a high flow exaust system first because it will enhance any other upgrades I make latter.

What do you guys think?

I agree completely, you can really do much with the stock exhaust. I would personally do; intake, headers, high flow cats, catback. That'll really help out in performance and should give you a real nice exhaust note.

hey, nothing wrong with 'em. Its basically the same thing the loudmouth exhaust is. An empty tube, lol.

yes umm how can i explain it, kind of like a cylinder, tube like. but you said you wanted it to breathe better and spin the tires well, one of the best performance mods is a full exhaust sytem...and glasspacks don't count. they do nothing to performance just show.

they are hollow, truthfully on newer cars exhaust systems don't do as much as on earlier cars (the 04 gp has the same dyno numbers with stock and any aftermarket exhaust, with and without cat)a glasspack is a tube perferated and has fiberglass insulation in an outer tube the air never actually goes through the glass

i wouldn't count on it, u would need to do MUCH more than better air intake to get it to smoke the tires in all the gears

explain to me how getting rid of a restrictive muffler and replacing it w/ a hollow tube will do nothing for performance. a glasspack is more or less just a resonator, the same thing the slp lm uses and they pick up some descent numbers w/ those systems (lets pretend both systems have mandrel bent piping for comparison sake)
