I put a Magnaflow off Ebay on my G/F's old cavalier, it was shot within a couple months. Not sure if I got a crappy one or not but I thought it was a waste of $75.
If you put it before all you will get is loud and I don't think it sounds good. All it does it become really annoying since its right below you. If you are going to put on in I would put it in before the pipe goes up over the axle. You will still bypass the muffler but you will get the sound behind you and also get a little tone since you will be going thru the pipe.
If you are looking to gain a lot of power don't count on it. My friends 305 Monte with Hooker long tubes and dual cut-outs only gained 4 horse on back to back dyno runs. His exhaust behind the cutouts isn't the best either. Maybe his car is a bad example but I wasn't that impressed. Tell you what, I just might put on back on my car up front and tell you what difference I have on the dyno since it would obviously be on the high side I would think...
