Bottle Mounting

Ok I want to mount my bottle in the back hatch on the flat peice before it goes where the T-Tops are stored. My questions is how much space is there between the sheet metal and the gas tank? I want to make sure when I mount the bottle I don't punchure it.

I know this is far from the best spot to mount the bottle due to the heat from the sun and the bottle preasure but what can I say? I like to show off.

That mount looks like it fits like a glove. Where did you get it?

looks nice phate. i am planning on mounting my bottle mounts(they look similar to yours, are they jegs?) right to the floor in that same spot.lol, i was thinking of buying on of those or makign one like you did but i think i might just drill and nut and bolt them down. idk tho. chad ill ask my friend how much space he had, cause he did the trap door fuel pump method, i forgot how much space he said there was tho. ill find out and let u know asap.

Problem with direct bolting it up 69z, is that its nowhere near flat, and the surface area of it isnt wide enough to support the brackets, hence why I made that peice.

If I were to do it again, i'd get one of those really expensive metal bottle holders to put on top of it to make it look better

PS - Not only is that mount bolted to the body, the bottle mounts are bolted to the adapter and through that into the body too lol. My bottle isnt going anywhere.

Have you seen my car? I don't have a backseat anymore so there's no where to mount it there. Plus I have a remote bottle opener so I don't need to be able to reach it by hand.

All I was asking is how much space is between the metal and gas tank.

On my car there was only 3/4" of an inch or so- and thats being generous. I would say don't go any lower than 1/4" below the lowest part of the back 'hatch'. If you can mount on the upper ridges you will have more room below obviously.

I can go out and check for sure if you want. But keep in mind that every car might be a little different.
