dual or y

I have a 94 z28 m6 pretty much stock except an slp intake but I am running up on some money here pretty soon and I was wondering if I should get true duals or go with a y pipe and a cat back and im looking for the most hp gains not to worried about sound

If you are not worried about ground clearance, definatly go with duals with an X pipe and bullet style mufflers (Borla XR-1's or SLP's loudmouth resonator's) Nothing will out flow that setup(If you have headers) and done right it sounds GREAT!!!
With stock manifolds, chris said it, y-pipe to a stock design catback, SLP Loudmouth, borla, magnaflow, etc

Very well.

archemedes 12-03-2004 11:43 PM

it will flow fine

NoRiceInside 12-04-2004 12:01 AM

psh. all you people and the high flow cats. now that i've seen the light a high flow is a waste of money. hit and a miss of a bypass.

lol little do you guys know that flowmaster is the most restrictive exhaust you can put on your car.. its more restrictive than your stock exhaust system.. :rollingla

NoRiceInside 12-04-2004 02:02 AM

oh so thats why they're so popular!

I seriouslly doubt theyre more restrictive than stock mufflers however they are a **** load more restrictive than borla/magnaflow/edelbrock/etc etc. I still have em on my maro tho :nana:

i didnt say anything bout the 305 V8 or 3.4 V6 .. I bet the flows sound sweet on ur 3rd gen.. they usually do .. But im talking about the LT1 hence the name of the the thread is LT1 lol

and some people believe marketing hype (flow restriction has never been proven in a controled test) I have seen flows make more power than dyno junk or slp on the same car and same dyno

fbird42 12-05-2004 12:43 AM

i cant believe that till i see comparison dyno slips between flows .. slp .. borla.. magnaflow or whatever else u said .. i guarentee the flows numbers will be lower dude

fbird42 12-05-2004 12:48 AM

remember 4th gen cars have crossflow exhaust so thats why flowmasters are so restrictive
