Question Flushing the transmission?

Is their any way to flush an automatic transmission? I mean flush all the fluid, toque converter and all. I was told one way of doing it is just pull the tranny cooling line off the radiator and let the fluid come out while the engine is running. But how safe is this for the transmission?

tranny flush machine your local Shop or Mclube... arch now you know thats not always true.. When i worked at valvoline we had many people do that cuz its almost 100% flush.. You could always drop the trans pan n see what u got in there.. if there are metal shavings or the liking.... if you get a new trans, get a trannycooler...

Everyone I know whose had it done had a problem, not sure why, but may be because all teh stuff that normally settles in the pan gets pushed through the whole trans leaving particles in places that normally wouldn't see them.Change the fluid, and filter like normal and you won't have problems the only reason to do a flush is if the trans is junk (that was told to me a by 2 trans techs also I trust them more than the guys making the machines and fluid)

That does make sence.. thoe its just pressurizing and pushing old fluid out and putting new fluid in and its not 100% taking out the random metalshavings and what not...
