im not a huge fan of formulas but if you like it thats all that matters, but you can get a T/A for a similar price, but like i said, its preference. also, have you considered looking for a 6 speed. they are fairly easy to find and well, just awesome to drive. if youve ever thought about learning stick or having a 4th gen 6 speed, now's the time, just wait and get what you really want, dont jump on anything. also, be careful of any car that has electrical problems. id rather pay 1000 bucks more for a car that i know has no electrical problems then get a cheaper one, thinking, "o i can just fix this easily" cause electrical SUCKS, especially chasing a short and whatnot. be careful and good luck!

If you get a Monte make sure you look under it. No point in getting one that is rotted out. I know they aren't known for lasting too long when it comes to the bodies and frames on them.

i decided against a monte. they are just way too expensive for one with a nice body meaning 3k+ and i really dont want to spend that much on one when i could get a 4th gen for that much. the only reason i do want one is b/c i can put my 350 in one so now maybe a third gen bird or a cutlass...

my dad is now suggesting i look for a newer car....he showed me a bunch of cars i really liked but theres no way in hell i can afford. he showed me a black grand prix gtx that i never heard of but it looked pretty sweet, had the ram air hood and silver stripes and a nice spoiler i had never seen before. it was 7k. he also showed me a black acura rsx 5 spd...i really really like those cars. one of the only imports i would buy probly. dunno the price on it but its way outta my range cause it was an 04. and finally we looked at a 00 ls1 t/a black on black in mint condition. that didn't have a price either but im guessing 17+.thats really my dream car, it had t tops and everything. the only thing it didn't have was the ws6 package

Looking at newer cars is nice, but if you can't afford then there isn't much of a point doing it.
My personal opinion on vehicles is as follows- If you can't pay for the insurance and car payment in one week's pay then its probably out of your price range. I know everyone's situation is different and have more or less other bills but thats what I go by. That way you arent' putting almost all your pay into one thing. When you end up doing that is typically when you get into trouble when you something else comes up that you have to pay for.
Matt- personally I think you would be happier with something that you could easily afford. That way you can actually have money left over to do things to it and make it your own.
