Hood Liner/ Heat Protector?
#16
Tony- I took mine off my first car when I had the stock hood on there and paint was fine- it just needed a little cleaning is all- but even paint that is a little roughed up looks better than that heat shield stuff...

Yea I had some salt and **** up under it when I took mine off but it cleaned up good and shined up just as well as the rest of the car. I wouldnt worry about it just take that ugly crap off.

yeah my paint was pretty nice under mine as well. as for ruining the paint...what do you think the sun does to your car? it gets it pretty damn hot when it sits in the sun all day but nothing ever really happens

Whats the worst case? You take it off and it looks like crap- put a little elbow grease into it and then spray the underside flat black with a rattle can.
If you take the bolts out of the actual hinge then you can pull the hood right off and not have to worry about realigning it. Pick a sunny day, invite over a buddy or two, pop the hood off, clean it up, spray it, let it dry and reinstall the two bolts. A couple hours messing around is well worth an engine compartment that looks a ton better.
I didnt' think it would make as much of a difference as it did, but it was well worth it IMO
