Installing ShiftKit

Im gonna be installing a B&M Shift kit along with the valvebody next week. I have a 94 v6 3.4 with the transmission out of a 95 camaro. Question is will this shiftkit wear out my tranny, Is there anything that I should be aware of before /after this is done? Also Should I notice a huge bada$$ difference in shifting?

that shift kit will destroy that trans. Most pros won't warranty a trans with any b&m parts in it, go transgo they are the ones the pro builders use

Im not quite sure what brand shiftkit it is but its already in the valve and ready to slip on my tranny. Its not like im gonna be racing my car or anything. This isnt one of those 2-3mode kits. So i dont see why it would "Destroy" my transmission?

are you sure youre not thinking of the b&m electronic shift enhancer. thats the one that voids the warranty and messes with the transmission. the b&m shift kit i have never heard of any problems with. trans go is nice too of course.

it changes the way the fluid goes through the trans, and the trans overheats, especially on the street (driving on the freeway is harder on many parts than drag racing because of heat)

From what I was told if it says b&m avaid it unless it's a shifter (the guys who told me that were working on th400's not electronic trans)

arch is wrong. the only shift kit that ruins the transmission is the B&M electronic one. the kit that includes the plates for the valve body will be fine, its the same type as the transgo it just doesnt include springs, etc.

dont worry about that. you can get a trans cooler but the stock cooler should work fine. the temps wont increase much.

so the trans builders for the first and second gens are wrong? I get my info from the guys who make a living doing the work, and warranty stuff (out of 10 only one would even use a b&m torque converter) the regular shift kit has block off parts to change fluid pressures that is bad

Ask a trans rebuilder, especially one who builds performance stuff with a warranty

I'll do that, In the mean time I guess a Shift improvment chip along with this shiftkit is over-doing it huh?

well arch if the B&M kit is bad how is the TransGo good if theyre both basically the same? Mind you the first and second gen transmissions aren't electronic.

I guess the question here is...Is a shiftkit a good mod or not? B&M..Transgo..they are both shiftkits and are deisgned ofe the same sole purpose. .Im not sure which kit this is because im getting it from my mechanic/friend...Bah I have already been through one transmission..

the b&m has parts that block oil passages to increase pressures, they are the only company that does that, the others use small holes to raise pressures, but still allow fluid to flow
