I would go with a road demon 525 cfm no bigger than a 625. Cutouts won't do a ton if you have a good muffler, but if stock you'll notice a difference. On street cars it's to be loud

a 600 cfm is prolly pretty good, then just make sure the floats bowls are adjusted correctly and jet it accordingly.

so how much do those cost cause right now im in a low budget and looking for some thing that will not be that expensive yesterday i put the car in stands and im going to put longer bolts on the trans so i can just slide it back do you think that will work cause the flywheel is going to break any min.

you can slide it back that's not a problem, it's just the space to slide is slim so you can't use large tools (there isn't much room to work in) a good carb is a few hundred bucks, a used one can be had cheap, but should be rebuilt. What carb do you have now? it may be too big, or need a rebuild (too big a carb is the most common error in engine building)

you have a quadrajet, not a horrible carb, if you can get one of the handfull of people that can rebuild them (not sure why but they are a royal pain to rebuild correctly)why did you remove the tpi?

yes, you have a quadrajunk, sell it and get something good.lol. like Arch said, most common error is too big a carb. My dad is running a 650 double pumper on his 327 small block and its around 360 horse. bigger is not always better. and Arch knows everything about everything so listen to waht he says. except that quadrajets are good.lol

there's a guy at nastyz28 that will prove to you the quadrajunk is a fine carb (he went 2 tenths faster than with a holley) but he's one of the handfull of people who can rebuild them (that's what he does for a living is carb rebuilding)

the TPI was not working that well it worked good for a week then it would not work for some days it would backfire and stuff so i just said i would take it off the TPI was polished and i gave it away like 2 weeks ago. So i should keep the carb just send it to get rebuilt again but this time tell my dads cuisine do do it right cause i know its has more power

depends on cost, but yeah have it rebuilt. I have a carb I could sell you, but it's rather large (I don't think anyone on the site has a big enough engine for it
